[11:06]<pggg>i am actually playing around with import scripts right now
[11:07]<logan>wouldnt it be nice that you can expect 3D standards are supported
[11:07]<pggg>most of them dont even work on the test files :(
[11:08]<logan>fenn: I dunno, I had trouble with some too
[11:08]<logan>VRML export just rorates all linked duplicates the same way for example
[11:10]<logan>bye
[11:18]<myrrmrmrrr>CRAPPY FREENODE. >:(
[11:20]<djdjzy-zzgg>heya
[11:20]<djdjzy-zzgg>:)
[11:20]<myrrmrmrrr>y halo thar!
[11:21]<djdjzy-zzgg>halo to you too
[11:22]<myrrmrmrrr>Don't hurt me, but IE7 is really sexy! :o
[11:22]<djdjzy-zzgg>i've seen it too, i'd have to agree
[11:23]<myrrmrmrrr>:3
[11:23]<djdjzy-zzgg>looking a lot more like safari when it comes to functionality
[11:24]<myrrmrmrrr>It gives you an insane amount of screen space. :)
[11:26]<cfrrsvrrcyn>can someone help with this question, i'd like to animate a few objects in an animation at certain locations, then have the camera fly-by each object tracking it till a certain point and then jumping to the next object and so forth, can this be done
[11:27]<lod>yes it can be done
[11:27]<cfrrsvrrcyn>cool
[11:27]<lod>set keyes on camera
[11:28]<lod>TrackTo Constraint if you want
[11:29]<cfrrsvrrcyn>so if i trackto contraint to say obj a and then to object b, with obj a still be there
[11:29]<myrrmrmrrr>I love Spock's Beard oh so very much. >_<
[11:29]<lod>klaasvaakie, ?
[11:30]<cfrrsvrrcyn>sorry
[11:31]<cfrrsvrrcyn>if i trackto, let's say: object a and then to object b, with object a still be contraint
[11:31]<lod>try TrackTo Constraint ;)
[11:32]<cfrrsvrrcyn>ok thank you
[11:34]<lod>try ;) you will see how it works (Influence
[11:34]<myrrmrmrrr>So bored. :X
[11:37]<djdjzy-zzgg>nothing interesting to do MickMcMack ?
[11:38]<mjzzzjf>hmm, to blend or play oblivion
[11:41]<wxzyv>I broke my blender@!!
[11:41]<wxzyv>someone help me!
[11:42]<myrrmrmrrr>Just don't try making a milkshake in it!
[11:42]<wxzyv>but i wasnt trying to make a milkshake.
[11:42]<wxzyv>I was trying to make a rocket pod for my spaceship.
[11:42]<myrrmrmrrr>Auralis!
[11:42]<myrrmrmrrr>xhrit, and?
[11:43]<djdjzy-zzgg>hahaha
[11:43]<wxzyv>and now i cant, cuz blender is broke.
[11:43]<wxzyv>:(
[11:43]<djdjzy-zzgg>umm
[11:43]<djdjzy-zzgg>thats very descriptive
[11:43]<wxzyv>I click on it...
[11:43]<wxzyv>...and...
[11:43]<myrrmrmrrr>[09:42] <MickMcMack> ~doesn't work
[11:43]<myrrmrmrrr>[09:42] <javabot> MickMcMack, doesn't work is useless. Tell us what it is, what you want it to do, and what it is doing.
[11:43]<wxzyv>...it wont let me.
[11:43]<myrrmrmrrr>I think that describes this situation entirely.
[11:44]<myrrmrmrrr>Well, start by telling us what OS, Blender version, etc.
[11:44]<wxzyv>I open a konsole window in teh directory and type ./blender
[11:44]<djdjzy-zzgg>so linux
[11:44]<djdjzy-zzgg>KDE
[11:44]<wxzyv>slack 10.2
[11:44]<myrrmrmrrr>Neg, you can use Konsole on other DEs/WMs.
[11:44]<fyzxv2zyzznz>In a blender python script, how do I get the vertex count of a mesh?
[11:44]<wxzyv>with dropline
[11:44]<myrrmrmrrr>lightbringer, by reading the API?
[11:44]<djdjzy-zzgg>*not familiar with dropline*
[11:45]<myrrmrmrrr>xhrit, now, tell us the error message.
[11:45]<fyzxv2zyzznz>MickMcMack, how helpful.
[11:45]<wxzyv>bash-3.00$ ./blender
[11:45]<wxzyv>Using Python version 2.4
[11:45]<myrrmrmrrr>Or at least, paste it to a pastebin somewhere if it's over 2 lines.
[11:45]<fyzxv2zyzznz>I don't see it in the Mesh-Module.
[11:45]<wxzyv>and that is it.
[11:45]<wxzyv>nothing.
[11:45]<djdjzy-zzgg>hmmm
[11:45]<myrrmrmrrr>xhrit, blender -w ?
[11:45]<wxzyv>bash-3.00$ blender -w
[11:45]<wxzyv>Segmentation fault
[11:46]<wxzyv>and i hear my disk 'going off'
[11:46]<myrrmrmrrr>Segmentation fault of DEFFF!
[11:46]<wxzyv>like it is seeking
[11:46]<wxzyv>and that is it.
[11:47]<myrrmrmrrr>Now, which version of Blender?
[11:47]<wxzyv>2.41
[11:47]<cfrrsvrrcyn>it failed, i trackto contraint the camera to the cube for 40 frames, then trackto contraint it to the cone for the following 40 frames and it just followed the cone for 80 frames
[11:47]<wxzyv>I tried static and dynamic
[11:48]<myrrmrmrrr>xhrit, maybe try building from source yourself? I dunno.
[11:48]<wxzyv>why did it stop working?
[11:48]<myrrmrmrrr>Or you could use a proper OS!
[11:48]<djdjzy-zzgg>its probably due to one of the libraries its using
[11:48]<wxzyv>the only thing i did since the last time i used blender was install openal.
[11:48]<djdjzy-zzgg>breaking things up
[11:48]<djdjzy-zzgg>if blender was compiled with debugging info
[11:48]<djdjzy-zzgg>you could run a GDB on it
[11:48]<djdjzy-zzgg>see which .so was the culprit
[11:49]<djdjzy-zzgg>maybe you still can?
[11:49]<wxzyv>how?
[11:49]<djdjzy-zzgg>you installed openAL?
[11:49]<djdjzy-zzgg>from what I remembered, blender uses OpenAL
[11:49]<wxzyv>the openal.so was such a bitch to install - blender uses openal right?
[11:49]<wxzyv>yeah.
[11:50]<djdjzy-zzgg>well, have you upgraded your gcc compiler lately?
[11:50]<wxzyv>no.
[11:50]<myrrmrmrrr>Use a real distro, not some 1940s one. :(
[11:50]<djdjzy-zzgg>then its probably a problem with the OpenAL giving problems
[11:50]<wxzyv>I think i installed sdl and a bunch ov sdl junk too liek sdl_mixer...
