[12:40]<djdjry-rwgg>but recompiling the source will do you good
[12:40]<djdjry-rwgg>so let it go
[12:40]<wxzyv>guess where at?
[12:40]<djdjzy-zzgg>where?
[12:40]<wxzyv>guess!
[12:40]<wxzyv>SND_OpenALDevice
[12:41]<djdjzy-zzgg>what is the error?
[12:41]<djdjzy-zzgg>btw
[12:41]<wxzyv>lol.
[12:41]<mjzzzjf>lod: do I append the object first or the armature?
[12:41]<djdjzy-zzgg>paste in the pastebin
[12:41]<djdjzy-zzgg>not directly here
[12:41]<wxzyv>lol, this is teh same error i was having with my game.
[12:41]<lod>if you import the mesh, his armature is imported too i think i remember
[12:42]<lod>or append it too
[12:42]<mjzzzjf>hmm
[12:42]<mjzzzjf>think I done object first
[12:42]<lod>you need to import the armature too
[12:42]<djdjzy-zzgg>xhrit: well what kind of error is it anyway?
[12:43]<wxzyv>cant find openal.
[12:43]<djdjzy-zzgg>as in a header file?
[12:43]<mjzzzjf>yeah done that, but the parenting was broke. I just remade it wasn`t a big job
[12:43]<lod>append both together or one after the other (both methods work
[12:43]<lod>Mongrol,
[12:44]<lod>and set a Armature Modifier on the Mesh with the Armature name, in
[12:46]<mjzzzjf>k, ta
[12:58]<dgdj2j2yg>hello, i was wondering if someone could help me. i know 1 bu is = to one meter. but what is one unit of force equal to in real-world terms?
[13:07]<wxzyv>so where do i set to compile for degug?
[13:08]<djdjzy-zzgg>xhrit: its all about the C flags
[13:08]<djdjzy-zzgg>http://developer.apple.com/documentation/DeveloperTools/gcc-3.3/gcc/Debugging-Options.html will explain
[13:09]<wxzyv>k
[13:09]<wxzyv>-ggdb?
[13:10]<wxzyv>or -g?
[13:13]<djdjzy-zzgg>ggdb
[13:13]<2ggjyva>hi does anyone here run bledenr on linuxx ppc ?
[13:14]<2ggjyva>is this better to use osx (performance & stability)
[13:14]<wxzyv>where am i suposed to put this? I dont see a spot for cflags in nan_def
[13:20]<bfyccyn>benoitc: I'd just use blender under OSX, that build is more used, so better tested. Personally I don't really see the point of installing linux on a mac though.
[13:21]<2ggjyva>Blikkie, mmm ic
[13:22]<2ggjyva>about linux ppc, this is possibility to use a mac pc more longer and have giimp and so on more integrated
[13:22]<wxzyv>mmm, because linux is better then mac osx?
[13:23]<wxzyv>or maybe you just want the same os installed on all your computers?
[13:23]<bfyccyn>but why spend the money on a mac when you don't use one of the selling points?
[13:24]<djdjzy-zzgg>Blikkie: i'm contemplating on installing linux on my mac
[13:24]<djdjzy-zzgg>but for totally different reasons
[13:24]<2ggjyva>my mac already have one year and already lost 2000 euros ;)
[13:24]<bfyccyn>benoitc: could you rephrase your question? I don't understand
[13:25]<bfyccyn>that's much more than my ibook cost to begin with
[13:26]<2ggjyva>Blikkie, the reason i'm would like to install linux on my mac is using opensource app more integrated in os & using a fully opensource os
[13:26]<2ggjyva>but there is the question of performance
[13:27]<2ggjyva>yomogi-aren, differents reasons ?
[13:27]<djdjzy-zzgg>yes
[13:28]<2ggjyva>which ?
[13:29]<djdjzy-zzgg>that I can't tell you
[13:29]<bfyccyn>I think there won't be much of a performance difference, since most programs are compiled in GCC on both platforms, driver support under linux may be spottier, OS overhead is probably lower
[13:30]<runsvyw>if you use gentoo-linux it will compile on your particular machine, this could give you more performance
[13:31]<bnbzrw>sse2 compiles can give you quite an advantage
[13:31]<bfyccyn>linux fails in the most integrated department usually due to the KDE/gnome battle, but ubuntu looks pretty good, even though the fonts are terrible. But x11 stuff on a mac looks bad and works just as bad.
[13:31]<2ggjyva>yup
[13:32]<2ggjyva>hum k so have to think about it :)
[13:32]<bnbzrw>what do you think of xgl and compiz?
[13:33]<runsvyw>nice thing to hook up those who cannot live without eyecandy :D
[13:33]<wrvne>guys, if a blend file is given out in a blender release log, is it still copyrighted?
[13:33]<bfyccyn>I'd hardly advise someone to build gentoo, I'd guess that the builders of the few ppc distributions are better at setting compiler flags than someone who throws on Gentoo
[13:34]<djdjzy-zzgg>what I need is a pure posix environment
[13:34]<djdjzy-zzgg>wavez: yeah it is
[13:35]<2ggjyva>ubuntu seem enough for me, gentoo on a powerbook could damage hardisk wth compilation
[13:35]<bnbzrw>nasty
[13:35]<szcuzzcjjcyn>I got kinda odd question.. I was adding particle to a UV sphere when I select to add exactly 3800 particles to it, they are emitted from the wrong faces/verts, if I add one more, or take one more particle off it works fine. Does this happen for anyone else? what could I be doing wrong?
[13:36]<szcuzzcjjcyn>oh forget to add this only happens when I have the Even button down on the particle buttons.
[13:36]<myrrmrmrrr>From Naruto? :o
[13:37]<djdjzy-zzgg>?
[13:38]<myrrmrmrrr>Sakura is a character from an anime called Naruto. :)
[13:39]<szcuzzcjjcyn>Bah.. CCS all the way.. she is cuter.
[13:39]<myrrmrmrrr>And regardless of her age in the anime, Sakura is hawt. ¬_¬
[13:40]<wxzyv>...
[13:40]<djdjzy-zzgg>...
[13:42]<wxzyv>sorry. i got distracted.
[13:42]<wxzyv>by exploding space ships.
[13:43]<bfyccyn>you're making exploding spaceships?
[13:43]<djdjzy-zzgg>iyaha, its all good :)
[13:44]<runsvyw>Blikkie: did you ever use (build) gentoo
[13:44]<runsvyw>?
[13:45]<wxzyv>http://xhrit.com/8-bitHELL/ZeroPointIII/screenshots/zpxss_208.png
[13:45]<bfyccyn>guestix: still run it on my server, it's been my desktop for over a year (but that was quite a while ago)
[13:46]<runsvyw>Blikkie: im just wondering, are the USE-flags in gentoo the same as compiler-flags?
[13:48]<bfyccyn>in the /etc/make.conf you can set compiler flags, but the USE flags also create dependencies.
[13:49]<bfyccyn>my c flags are CFLAGS="-O2 -mcpu=i586 -fomit-frame-pointer"
[13:49]<djdjzy-zzgg>not exactly
[13:52]<runsvyw>Blikkie: so may i ask what you are using as your desktop OS after gentoo?
[13:52]<bfyccyn>you may
[13:52]<wrvne>so would ludwig be copyrighted?
[13:53]<runsvyw>i do have gentoo on my desktop now, so i would like to know what is the better alternative
[13:53]<djdjzy-zzgg>wavez: who is ludwig?
[13:53]<bfyccyn>wavez: everything is copyrighted
[13:53]<wrvne>http://www.cs.unm.edu/~sketch/gallery/resource/ludwig/ludwig.html
[13:53]<bfyccyn>the question is what the license is.
[13:53]<myrrmrmrrr>wavez, the wtfpl!
