[20:24]<logan>but I noticed it
[20:24]<logan>I see this:
[20:24]<logan>(19:22:15) LOGONE: I use LOGAN on the other network
[20:24]<logan>(19:22:20) skraelings001 left the room.
[20:24]<logan>(19:22:42) LOGONE: but I noticed it
[20:24]<logan>(19:22:49) ***LOGONE waits to be ghosted
[20:24]<bfyccyn>doopidub: you have an american keyboard?
[20:25]<rggayw>weird
[20:25]<logan>blame Gaim
[20:25]<logan>heh
[20:26]<logan>I use GAIM to connect to the MOTAS channel
[20:26]<logan>welcome
[20:29]<logan>seen this? http://albartus.com/blender/c64.avi
[20:34]<bnbzrw>L0GAN: that's quite nice. why does it flicker a bit every once in a while? a render bug?
[20:35]<bnbzrw>the whole image doesn't flicker but small parts of it
[20:37]<rggayw>BeBraw: had that discussion before, no one knows ;)
[20:43]<jdddnd__>Does anyone know how to open up an Xbox?
[20:43]<as2nsvjs>Jimmey__: Like crack it open?
[20:44]<jdddnd__>Asbestos: I just need to get inside it to fix the borked CD tray
[20:44]<dacww1o>Jimmey__, yeah, the screws are under the rubber feet on the bottom
[20:44]<jdddnd__>How do you move the feet?
[20:44]<dacww1o>Jimmey__, i know how to do it because mine died last weekend :(
[20:45]<jdddnd__>Oh, sorry to hear
[20:45]<dacww1o>you just have to pull off the feet with a knife. dont really plan on getting the rubber feet back on unless you want to superglue them
[20:45]<jdddnd__>I see
[20:45]<dacww1o>Jimmey__, there's another scren under the white sticker, so youll have to peel that off
[20:45]<dacww1o>it should be pretty easy and straightforward once you fine all the screws on the bottom
[20:45]<xrffnd>A sledgehammer would work.
[20:46]<dacww1o>just pull off the rubber things and youll find most of the screws
[20:46]<xrffnd>CAUTION: May void warrantee.
[20:46]<as2nsvjs>DAC1138: won't that void the warranty?
[20:46]<dacww1o>halley, thats what it looked like my little bro did to it when i got to it
[20:46]<dacww1o>Asbestos, it should, unless his warranty is already voide from being too old
[20:46]<xrffnd>Does it have that peculiar plastic which stinks when it gets stretched or cut?
[20:46]<dacww1o>the warranty only lasts a certain amount of time
[20:48]<dacww1o>mine is like 4 years old, so you can bet my warranty was gone when the optical drive died and the hard drive went as well
[20:48]<dacww1o>i need to replace those parts now
[20:49]<as2nsvjs>Can you slap any old replacement part in htere?
[20:50]<dacww1o>Asbestos, no, only certain hard drives will work, and after you find them they have to be "locked"
[20:50]<dacww1o>sad, i lost all my save games and halo 2 multiplayer maps
[20:51]<jdddnd__>It's my brother's Xbox, and the CD tray's failing to eject
[20:51]<jdddnd__>So I bet it's just something stopping the mechanism that can be removed
[20:51]<jdddnd__>If I can get to it *-) It's only 6 months old though, so I'll leave my brother to decide what to do
[20:51]<as2nsvjs>sounds like the build quality is low... and how do you lock a hdd?
[20:54]<dacww1o>call microsoft if it's 6 months old, if you remove the case you'll definitely void the warranty then
[20:55]<dacww1o>Asbestos, theres software you get on your pc, hook the drive up to the computer and format it like that
[20:55]<jdddnd__>I think he's taking it back to where he bought it to get it repaired - He can't find the receipt, though
[20:55]<dacww1o>i think ill just by a standard xbox drive from ebay, 8GB/10GB and they're going for like $10
[20:55]<dacww1o>Jimmey__, do you have the box?
[20:55]<dacww1o>Jimmey__, where did he buy it?
[20:55]<jdddnd__>Woolworths
[20:56]<jdddnd__>And I don't know if he still has the box
[20:56]<jdddnd__>I'll presume not, though
[20:56]<dacww1o>huh
[20:56]<dacww1o>they should take it back for you and repair it
[20:56]<dacww1o>if it's like any other retail outlet like best buy or circuit city they should do it
[20:56]<jdddnd__>It's still got the serial on the bottom, etc.
[20:57]<dacww1o>all they would have to do is lookup your name and see that you purchased an xbox recently, and they will fix it
[20:57]<jdddnd__>But, it is Woolworths - They sell ironing board covers and water guns along side Xboxes and TVs
[21:01]<dacww1o>oh shoot, i just realised my character on morrowind is going to be gone
[21:01]<dacww1o>oh well, he was no fun anyway. i was immortal
[21:01]<hwdvzz>hi. newbie question #1: how do I assign a jpg texture to a face instead of the entire object?
[21:02]<dacww1o>Hwyvar, you can separate the face and put the texture on it that way
[21:03]<as2nsvjs>Or use material indeces.
[21:03]<hwdvzz>DAC1138, thnx, but now, how do I seperate the face?
[21:03]<jdddnd__>Select the verts that make the face, and press p
[21:03]<hwdvzz>and will it then no longer be part of the object?
[21:03]<dacww1o>select the verticies that make up the face, and hit P
[21:04]<dacww1o>Hwyvar, nope, but you can rejoin it with the object later
[21:04]<hwdvzz>and the jpg texture will stay on the selected face only?
[21:06]<as2nsvjs>Should do. It should automatically make a new index for that material.
[21:06]<hwdvzz>erhm, I seem to have lost the face :) lets try again
[21:13]<runsvyw>are there any networking capabilities in the game engine?
[21:18]<dacww1o>guestix, #gameblender
[21:18]<dacww1o>they would know more than us, but im sure there is
[21:19]<runsvyw>#gameblender is pretty much dead, or at least sleeping, thats why i asked here
[21:20]<runsvyw>and the one who mentioned the "networking modules" has quit :/
[21:20]<myrrmrmrrr>My finger. ;_;
[21:22]<jdddnd__>DAC1138: Sounds like idlers!
[21:22]<dacww1o>yup
[21:22]<2uac>is the game engine somewhat complete or still lacking a lot?
[21:22]<jdddnd__>Does the pope shit in the woods?
[21:22]<jdddnd__>Just kidding.
[21:22]<jdddnd__>I don't know.
[21:23]<runsvyw>its pretty much complete - just with no networking as far as i know
[21:23]<sunlxrnn>buck: its been around awhile, I think its fairly complete
[21:23]<2uac>cool
[21:23]<sunlxrnn>guestix: I mean if you can write python you can add networking I would think
[21:23]<2uac>can it produce separate executables, or will people have to install blender to play it?
[21:23]<sunlxrnn>guestix: just a guess, but I don't see why not
[21:24]<jdddnd__>buck: You can do teh executables
[21:24]<2uac>that is the cool
[21:24]<2uac>argh, auto spell fix
[21:25]<runsvyw>Surphaze: you are basically right, but there was a problem in doing it that way, because every time the game engine executes a python script, the game engine is halted
[21:25]<sunlxrnn>guestix: ah, that would be a problem then
[21:25]<2uac>can't you include external python networking libraries?
[21:25]<sunlxrnn>guestix: unless you do async sockets and check it each time through the game loop
[21:26]<jdddnd__>MickMcMack: XoD
