[22:35]<snppysx>I just saw a download for CCIE training audio books like that
[22:35]<snppysx>great for the commute
[22:38]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>ok.
[22:38]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>they're GDM-5410s, and I have four of them.
[22:40]<snppysx>heh, shipping ~$75
[22:41]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>they weigh between 70 and 80 lbs, probably closer to 70
[22:41]<[mzvzyw]>Do I have to configure anything special on a v.35 interface on my Cisco? It's running out of an Adtran.
[22:43]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>Ground to denver via UPS is <$60.
[22:44]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>[Matrix]: zip code?
[22:44]<[mzvzyw]>29201
[22:44]<vcul>[Matrix], you don't need to configure anything as far as i know
[22:45]<2zrgvj-l2>anyone with mlppp clue?
[22:45]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>[Matrix]: <$70
[22:46]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>FBH^: <$65
[22:46]<[mzvzyw]>Hmm, I'll take one.
[22:47]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>ok, it'll be a couple weeks before we do the employee sale
[22:47]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>i'll pick up at least the two and give you an exact cost at that time.
[22:48]<[mzvzyw]>Cool.
[22:48]<cxrjs>branto-pb: maybe, I have some experience with sync mlppp
[22:48]<[mzvzyw]>If it's in two weeks I might take two. :)
[22:48]<[mzvzyw]>Cause I'll have been paid again by then
[22:48]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>haha :0 that'd be a cool setup -- two matching 22" suns.
[22:49]<2zrgvj-l2>never mind... I found the problem...
[22:49]<2zrgvj-l2>thanks... :)
[22:49]<[mzvzyw]>Yup. :) On either side of a 20" flat panel.
[22:49]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>very nice.
[22:49]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>oh, you might want to reinforce your desk -- these suckers weigh 71 lbs (according to mfr)
[22:50]<snppysx>[Matrix] house looking like Barney's playground - everything purple
[22:50]<[mzvzyw]>lmao
[22:50]<[mzvzyw]>Forgot Sun's stuff was purple, haha
[22:50]<[mzvzyw]>Doesn't matter, I work in the dark most of the time anyway. ;)
[22:51]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>haha
[22:51]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>a friend of mine painted a room in his house that color
[22:51]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>he's a sun geek.
[22:51]<[mzvzyw]>Eww, that'd be an ugly room
[22:51]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>It actually doesn't look bad.
[22:51]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>Not good, mind you, but not bad.
[22:51]<cxrjs>heh
[23:02]<`kgvyg>odd thing..
[23:03]<`kgvyg>did some changes for a client, they have 2800, 1800, and a 2950
[23:03]<[mzvzyw]>I'll take a 2811
[23:03]<`kgvyg>setup a trunk between the 2950 and the 2800 sicne i introduced a 2nd vlan
[23:03]<`kgvyg>the 2800 is performing nat on the trunk line
[23:03]<`kgvyg>sub-if's
[23:04]<`kgvyg>i can ping / traceroute etc external ip's over the net, the 2800 connects to the net
[23:04]<`kgvyg>they have an internal dns server, the internal dns server couldnt resolve dns outside of its domain
[23:04]<`kgvyg>but could connect to ip's via their ip
[23:04]<`kgvyg>external and internal
[23:05]<[mzvzyw]>hmm, DNS server sounds like it's being weird.
[23:05]<[mzvzyw]>MS DNS server?
[23:05]<`kgvyg>yes
[23:05]<[mzvzyw]>might try setting up a forwarding server on it, use the ISP's DNS servers
[23:06]<`kgvyg>they have local domains, will they still resolve and for the ones that fail it will go out to others?
[23:06]<[mzvzyw]>yeah
[23:06]<`kgvyg>k
[23:07]<[mzvzyw]>just right-click on the server and open Properties. On the Forwarder's tab, add the ISP's DNS servers.
[23:08]<`kgvyg>they are connected to us via ethernet so i will just use our's
[23:08]<`kgvyg>ah i will give it a try in a few
[23:09]<snppysx>also, make sure no firewall is blocking port 53 tcp AND udp
[23:10]<[mzvzyw]>yeah, firewalls that block 53 tcp/udp outgoing would be a problem.
[23:11]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>egress filtering is a pita
[23:12]<snppysx>agreed
[23:12]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>ok, here's a (not-so) stupid question ... if i have two pix in failover mode, and make changes on the master, will the changes propagate to the slave or do I have to do it manually?
[23:18]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>sh run
[23:18]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>err.
[23:23]<fdzjd>Does someone here ever try the tac_plus server for the AS5350 authentification?
[23:26]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>anyone?
[23:28]<snppysx>never tried loather-work, always just did it manually
[23:28]<vd2r>I use tac_plus but not w/ an AS5350.
[23:28]<fdzjd>tmbg are you using mysql to store your users?
[23:28]<snppysx>I have an AS5350, but don't use tac_plus :)
[23:28]<`kgvyg>selfish: I thought the same but, the only changes I made was changing to a trunk port on the 2950, and on the 2800 configuring a subif 0/0.1 to nat inside and vlan 1 native
[23:28]<fdzjd>selfish what are you using?.. radius?
[23:29]<vd2r>mysql? nah. not that many users. just the tac.conf
[23:29]<[mzvzyw]>loather: write standby
[23:29]<[mzvzyw]>from the master
[23:29]<snppysx>lyroy, it doesn't have users, everything is allowed
[23:29]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>write standby... great, thanks.
[23:29]<snppysx>wide open baby
[23:29]<fdzjd>tmbg I got it work with the conf file but when I'm using mysql I can authenticate telnet users but not the ppp users (chap)
[23:30]<fdzjd>selfish hehe ok...
[23:34]<vd2r>never set up chap.
[23:35]<fdzjd>wich one are you using?
[23:44]<vd2r>not dialin at all.
[23:47]<gzrnnd->tmbg: do you like They Might Be Giants?
[23:49]<vd2r>that's where the nick came from. they're ok but I don't listen to them as much as I used to.
[23:50]<ddcnd2_wjzc>I am trying to put 2 devices on different subnets that talk to each other with multicast, once I put them on different subnets it breaks the multicast abilities between them, does anyone know how I can get the multicasting to work again with the devices on different subnets, must be some kind of access rule?
[23:52]<vd2r>if they're in the same multicast group they should talk to each other multicast-wise regardless of unicast subnet.
