[20:58]<vz2ufzzzsz>would anyone in here say that sentence like that?
[20:58]<vz2ufzzzsz>or would you say "and the crowd IS going wild"
[20:59]<msxjv>be
[20:59]<drdrsaggg>crowd is going wild.
[20:59]<vz2ufzzzsz>yes, i realize that
[20:59]<vz2ufzzzsz>:p
[21:00]<vz2ufzzzsz>see, brits say it the other way, and try to justify it by saying that a crowd is "multiple people" thus being a plural ergo "are"
[21:00]<vz2ufzzzsz>it drives me up a wall
[21:00]<vz2ufzzzsz>i was only quoting a monty python skit, so, thats where the tangent came from
[21:02]<drdrsaggg>wow
[21:02]<drdrsaggg>i'm shocked haha
[21:03]<snppysx>aww, tshirthell took down their chuck norris shirt
[21:03]<drdrsaggg>yeahhe is awesome
[21:04]<drdrsaggg>he is not insulted!
[21:04]<drdrsaggg>he can withstand such punishment
[21:06]<[mzvzyw]>Chuck Norris can run IOS on a 5500 switch.
[21:07]<[mzvzyw]>:O
[21:08]<fnajcnz>i connect on minicom with console set to 9600 8,N,1
[21:08]<fnajcnz>this fonction
[21:08]<[mzvzyw]>I bet he can configure Nagios in under 30 seconds too.
[21:09]<[mzvzyw]>usually it's 5 files, but yeah
[21:09]<vcul>clear
[21:09]<msxjv>no don't clear
[21:09]<vz2ufzzzsz>onto a printer issue... wheee!!!
[21:10]<fnajcnz>matrix
[21:10]<vz2ufzzzsz>email here
[21:10]<fnajcnz>hello tabularasa
[21:10]<vz2ufzzzsz>nagios from SCRATCH
[21:10]<vz2ufzzzsz>so, did you look at the three things listed lejoker?
[21:10]<vz2ufzzzsz>i HATE email issues
[21:10]<snppysx>thats because all the completely borked MTA's out there screw up messages
[21:10]<msxjv>define e-mail issues
[21:11]<vz2ufzzzsz>the two things i said i didnt want to work on (veritas and exchange) i am doing the most
[21:11]<snppysx>djb and his crappy qmail can suck it
[21:11]<dffnw>I at least avoided VPN
[21:11]<dffnw>its not that its hard, its the idiots on the other end
[21:11]<fnajcnz>tabularas
[21:11]<fnajcnz>a
[21:11]<fnajcnz>i boot my router
[21:11]<vz2ufzzzsz>email issue... = [ralph wiggum voice]- I can't get my email [/ralph wiggum voice]
[21:12]<msxjv>I hate legacy telephony
[21:12]<msxjv>thankfully I don't deal with any Windows shiz
[21:13]<dffnw>sometimes copper is great
[21:13]<msxjv>heh, that's the most basic side of that shitstorm, how about PBXs that only have interfaces to them via a phone or some funked-up converted Japanese client
[21:16]<vz2ufzzzsz>shitstorm... that reminds me of a dilbert cartoon
[21:16]<[mzvzyw]>probably one of your fake dilberts
[21:17]<vz2ufzzzsz>define "fake"
[21:17]<msxjv>That should be a new lesser X-Men character
[21:17]<[mzvzyw]>reworded
[21:17]<dffnw>yea, but thats not my problem, voip is
[21:17]<vz2ufzzzsz>LOL
[21:17]<vz2ufzzzsz>dshot: nice
[21:17]<msxjv>Professor Fuck-up
[21:17]<msxjv>and Shitstorm
[21:17]<dffnw>but I can bridge their phone across any old cable anywhere on campus
[21:19]<msxjv>it's a good feeling to trace some shit out on some 66 blocks via inductance with your finger... and receive a nice shock
[21:19]<msxjv>makes you feel warm and fuzzy about the whole deal
[21:19]<dffnw>ring ring
[21:19]<dffnw>I just hate custom pinouts
[21:19]<dffnw>serial devices etc across 66 blocks, that makes my day
[21:19]<msxjv>oh god
[21:20]<msxjv>Mainframe, sup
[21:20]<vz2ufzzzsz>bash.... onsite crap..... bbl
[21:20]<msxjv>have about 20 consoles to the mainframe all punched down on 66 blocks and shit-strewn under the raised floor
[21:20]<msxjv>it's a brilliant setup
[21:20]<dffnw>hehe, at least thats gone, well, the cable is still in the floor
[21:21]<dffnw>we have to do a data center cleanup of all the abandoned cables next summer, probably the first in 25 years
[21:23]<fnajcnz>hello
[21:23]<msxjv>I inquired about 3270 emulation, using the network... also about serial concentrators
[21:23]<msxjv>got about 10 blank stares
[21:23]<fnajcnz>i am a problem on my router cisco 26àà
[21:23]<msxjv>love my jo
[21:23]<fnajcnz>00
[21:23]<msxjv>*job
[21:23]<dffnw>heh
[21:23]<msxjv>people literally have these consoles punched down, then cross-connected out to other blocks and extended into cubes so they have actual terminals
[21:24]<snppysx>awesome
[21:24]<dffnw>haha, thats old school
[21:25]<dffnw>I just want to get rid of appletalk and ipx
[21:25]<msxjv>oh yeah, did I mention I have an interview next week
[21:25]<msxjv>and some other crap tomorrow, phone screen I setup
[21:25]<vd2r>I like it. we just have the console lines run under the subfloor. I like the 66block idea though.
[21:26]<dffnw>cross connects always suck in the end
[21:27]<msxjv>The wiring here was done by a guy who is like 80 years old now, and literally it's like staring at a cliff face.. how you can see the geological history, well look up above the ceiling and you can see the progression of wiring standards dating back like 40 years
[21:27]<msxjv>haha
[21:27]<msxjv>aka fire hazard like woah
[21:27]<dffnw>so are you interviewing at a shiny new data center?
[21:27]<msxjv>aka holy shit how does any of this stuff actually work
[21:27]<dffnw>it just never stopped working
[21:28]<msxjv>actually, the interview is at a datacenter
