[19:34]<msxjv>'guys, someone just plugged in some stuff in the datacenter and everything is down, please help.. oh god my nads hurt'
[19:34]<fjzvxnz>so have I, actually
[19:34]<gndyvx>course i forgot to set the clutch on my cordless drill
[19:34]<fjzvxnz>i broke one off a WIC-1DSU-T1 with a hand screwdriver
[19:34]<fjzvxnz>i was a little miffed
[19:34]<[mzvzyw]>yeah, but you can't even use a #1 philips head on these things
[19:34]<msxjv>hardcore breaking off WIC screws
[19:35]<[mzvzyw]>it's like they did a very poor job milling the posts
[19:35]<fjzvxnz>'cause it's not like you can just go to hardware store X and buy replacement screws
[19:35]<msxjv>of course, I've dropped WICs on the ground prior to deploying them... like a candy bar dropped on the ground.. 5-second rule or something... blow on it, look around.. install it
[19:35]<fjzvxnz>and i have a pet peeve about equipment with missing screws
[19:35]<fncu>re
[19:36]<gndyvx>wic's are tough little bastards
[19:36]<fncu>are wics pcmcia's?
[19:36]<gndyvx>i have abused the hell out of them and they work fine
[19:36]<gndyvx>leku: the connector is
[19:36]<msxjv>loather, I broke off a 2600 series faceplate because we didn't have any power tools, coworkers were too lazy to help, trying to balance it and get it racked
[19:36]<ald>yeah, 5 sec rule applies I think.
[19:36]<dracf>nemith: possible to bridge them together on c3550 ? (not via crossover)
[19:36]<gndyvx>majkl: in hardware... i dunno
[19:37]<fncu>i'm writing some tools to parse cisco configs
[19:37]<fncu>and also an inventory collection tool
[19:37]<msxjv>MacGuyver'd it back on with some packing tape
[19:37]<gndyvx>majkl: if you want this network to run well, find those who have access to the layer 2 switches
[19:37]<gndyvx>leku: nice
[19:37]<gndyvx>leku: SNMP?
[19:37]<fjzvxnz>NMs are pretty tough little bastards too. I have a couple NM-1E2Ws sitting here covered in dust. Blew it off, accidentally dropped it, installed it, and it worked fine the first time.
[19:37]<fncu>no not really
[19:37]<fncu>just commands from telnet, show version or show diag
[19:37]<msxjv>You could kill someone with an NM
[19:37]<gndyvx>yeah
[19:37]<gndyvx>leku: what language?
[19:38]<msxjv>FastE NM to the head, ouch
[19:38]<fncu>perl
[19:38]<fncu>the snmp shit is too hard to do because a lot of devices don't support all the mibs you need
[19:38]<fjzvxnz>dshot: token ring :D
[19:38]<gndyvx>leku: yup, i've been down that road
[19:38]<fncu>hehe
[19:39]<msxjv>the native TCL interpreter probably isn't on enough equip IOS-wise to setup a TFTP job
[19:39]<gndyvx>leku: if you want to release them to the public, I've been putting all my scripts on the wiki
[19:39]<gndyvx>http://internetworkpro.org/wiki
[19:39]<fncu>i don't think i can
[19:39]<fncu>well
[19:39]<msxjv>I have to admit, I hate TCL.. but that's a cool use... scary, but cool
[19:39]<fncu>actually i probably could
[19:39]<fncu>and i should
[19:39]<fncu>f this place
[19:39]<gndyvx>heh
[19:40]<fjzvxnz>yeah, i dispise Tcl. It'd be neat to do some Tcl in an IOS config, though. I'll have to brush up on it.
[19:40]<2zdsnpzz>nemith: Should we set up a porn gallery? ;)
[19:40]<gndyvx>bamsefar: yeah, we'll get your mom to pose again
[19:40]<2zdsnpzz>;)
[19:40]<fncu>lol
[19:40]<vz2ufzzzsz>:o
[19:40]<2zdsnpzz>nemith: You know what I mean.
[19:40]<vz2ufzzzsz>reminds me of a Dilbert comic
[19:40]<fncu>nemith
[19:40]<gndyvx>:P
[19:41]<msxjv>Best thing I've seen in awhile, and I don't know how the hell I missed this.... the 'do' command
[19:41]<fjzvxnz>line up a stack of 6ks and have some slutty chick naked on top of them :D
[19:41]<2zdsnpzz>nemith: If I could borrow gallery.internetworkpro.org I could set one up.
[19:41]<fncu>if you have a ciscoworks RME box, RME will export configs to you in XML
[19:41]<msxjv>I feel cheated that I didn't know about that for awhile
[19:41]<fncu>through the DEE (Data extraction engine) tool
[19:41]<vz2ufzzzsz>http://www.gallier.us/dilbert/dilbert2.jpg
[19:41]<fjzvxnz>dshot: Tcl, or IOS?
[19:41]<msxjv>all those times I exited out or had another session open to exec a command outside of config mode
[19:41]<msxjv>IOS
[19:41]<[mzvzyw]>tab: all those WIC's we got a while back are fake, lol
[19:41]<vz2ufzzzsz>thats not true
[19:42]<gndyvx>bamsefar: yeah.. i don't control my dns
[19:42]<vz2ufzzzsz>unless they know how to make that cisco tape
[19:42]<gndyvx>or my login
[19:42]<gndyvx>bamsefar: you wanna host on my server?
[19:42]<vz2ufzzzsz>a lot of those wics came sealed in cisco boxes
[19:42]<2zdsnpzz>nemith: Sure, why not.
[19:42]<vz2ufzzzsz>unless they were fake too
[19:42]<vz2ufzzzsz>a lot - 3 maybe.. :)
[19:42]<vz2ufzzzsz>the rest... prob
[19:42]<[mzvzyw]>yeah, reals ones have holographic stickers
[19:42]<[mzvzyw]>sealing the box
[19:42]<vz2ufzzzsz>i can account for 3 real ones... lol
[19:43]<[mzvzyw]>lol
[19:43]<[mzvzyw]>as nemith posted: http://www.affirmedsystems.com/fakewics.html
[19:44]<vz2ufzzzsz>ha!
[19:44]<vz2ufzzzsz>they were fake
[19:44]<vz2ufzzzsz>still have those boxes?
[19:44]<bsdrgdjg>damn laptop... net card doesnt show up in ifconfig
[19:45]<msxjv>anyone else a nubby who didn't know about the 'do' command?
[19:45]<bsdrgdjg>whats a nubby?
[19:45]<bsdrgdjg>oh
[19:45]<bsdrgdjg>noobie
[19:46]<vz2ufzzzsz>stfu n00b!
[19:46]<msxjv>nubcake, n00b, nubby
[19:46]<vz2ufzzzsz>heh
[19:46]<[mzvzyw]>I threw those boxes away like 2 days ago
[19:46]<fjzvxnz>dshot: I didn't until you told me
[19:46]<vz2ufzzzsz>hatin it
[19:47]<msxjv>loather, useful eh?
