[09:02]<sdac2jd>hey FBH i will sell you my Maxima
[09:02]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>FBH^: yeah, us emission laws are stupid
[09:02]<sazdn>kansasss has emission laws?
[09:02]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>so get this.
[09:03]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>i had an old truck for a while, right?
[09:03]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>one day, the engine siezed
[09:03]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>so i took the engine from a truck a year older from the junkyard
[09:03]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>put it in my truck and went to register it (it had sat unregistered for a couple years)
[09:03]<sdac2jd>Proof that America is stupid
[09:03]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>when i had it inspected they ran the serial numbers on the engine and the truck
[09:04]<sdac2jd>A Guy got busted with 65 Kilos of Meth, 15 Pounds of X and 35 Pounds of weed
[09:04]<sdac2jd>at the canadian border in Washington
[09:04]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>since they didn't match, they realized the engine wasn't from that truck
[09:04]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>and was from an older truck
[09:05]<sazdn>and?
[09:05]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>even though i scored fully 60% below the minimum emissions, they wouldn't let me register it
[09:05]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>the engine was cleaner than new cars coming off the lots today
[09:06]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>... but because the engine was an older model, they wouldn't let me register it.
[09:06]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>stupidity.
[09:06]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>i got around the requirement by making it a 'special construction vehicle'
[09:06]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>basically, i stripped some body panels off, welded a tubular frame around it
[09:07]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>then welded thin plate steel to the tube frame
[09:07]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>instant special construction vehicle.
[09:07]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>it had to go through 'roadworthiness tests' -- but that was bullshit
[09:08]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>dude, where's my car?
[09:08]<sazdn>dude, wheres my car
[09:08]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>i dig on the rust
[09:09]<sazdn>http://dynup.net/~ryan/newcar/
[09:09]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>FBH^: are you sure you aren't mexican? :D
[09:09]<sdac2jd>dude that is a beaner car
[09:09]<sazdn>BEANERS
[09:10]<fjzvxnz-wjzc><hasty stereotype "'cause mexicans do ghetto things like that to their cars" />
[09:10]<sazdn>me?
[09:10]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>i should buy an RX-8.
[09:10]<sazdn>i paid cash for that mafaka
[09:11]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>or a bmw 3 series.
[09:11]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>FBH^: i had the hood fly up on my beetle once
[09:11]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>that sucked
[09:11]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>bent the fuck out of it, too
[09:12]<sazdn>i had a 87 pulsar
[09:12]<sazdn>that thing was held together with ducttape
[09:12]<sazdn>but it would not die, the engine was mint
[09:13]<sazdn>1996 GM
[09:13]<sazdn>im surprised it hasnt caught fire
[09:13]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>fire department *finally* got here
[09:14]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>i think manual transmission should be a requirement for a license.
[09:15]<sazdn>my mazda has both
[09:15]<sazdn>manual mode and automatic
[09:15]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>you mean it's an automatic with the silly sportmatic thingy
[09:15]<sazdn>it aint the same
[09:15]<sazdn>but its not as bad
[09:15]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>personally, i don't see the point
[09:15]<sazdn>go up a hill in an automatic
[09:15]<sazdn>youll see the point
[09:16]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>Scrye: that's why I drive a stick
[09:16]<sazdn>thats why an automatic sucks going up a hill
[09:16]<sazdn>and manual mode is useful
[09:17]<sazdn>thats how i learned
[09:17]<sazdn>my mom took me to the steepest hill
[09:17]<sazdn>in a piece of shit 300$ 1984 nissan pickup
[09:17]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>i used to own an 84 nissan 4x4
[09:17]<sazdn>if you could get that piece of shit up a hill, you could drive anything
[09:18]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>an old z or a new one?
[09:19]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>i used to own a 78 280z. then i had a 95 300zx.
[09:19]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>i miss both those cars.
[09:19]<sdac2jd>FBH^ You should just tap on your brakes as you drive randomly
[09:19]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>for different reasons.
[09:20]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>the best is to drive slow
[09:20]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>then speed up when they try and pass you
[09:23]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>they're not unaffordable.
[09:23]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>i dunno, i'll see what i end up with.
[09:25]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>infinitis are nissans
[09:25]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>oh, ok.
[09:25]<sazdn>heh, they make that out to appeawr its an innovation
[09:25]<sazdn>when really, the very first cars had that
[09:25]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>i built a dune buggy 10 years ago that had pushbutton ignition :D
[09:26]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>oh, you did with this, too
[09:26]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>but yeah, it had to be in the ignition :(
[09:27]<sazdn>language
[09:29]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>i want a bmw. always have.
[09:30]<j2rgvr>\\\M !!
[09:31]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>what's the difference?
[09:31]<j2rgvr>roadster == convertable, coupe = tighter chassis == better handling usually.
[09:32]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>oh, i'd go for the coupe.
[09:32]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>if they still made t-tops, i'd do that.
[09:32]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>my 95 had t-tops.
[09:32]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>that was the best of both worlds.
[09:32]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>it was rad.
[09:33]<j2rgvr>I had a BMW roadster in 2000 as a company car working for an ISP (I have no idea why they did it) :)
[09:35]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>necessary? no. Fun? yes.
[09:37]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>dark silver
[09:37]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>black is too ... well, gay
[09:37]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>and silver is too ... normal
[09:37]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>the charcoal color is a lot better.
[09:38]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>black is OK. its just boring
[09:39]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>yes, that's one of the reasons against getting black
[09:39]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>you don't buy a sportscar in automatic.
[09:41]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>yeah, that iridescent paint is too lame for on a car
[09:42]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>the spoiler and air dam are ineffective.
[09:42]<kz0gvr2>sup f0lks
