[18:54]<bsdrgdjg>my crimper sucks shit
[18:54]<vd2r>I can't see ebay links.
[18:55]<ald>k
[18:55]<bsdrgdjg>it crimps one half, and doesnt do shit to the other half
[18:55]<vd2r>our net tool is the pro model, but that one from the URL I guess is similar.
[18:55]<ald>k
[18:57]<vd2r>weird. mac didn't show up in the cam table until I pinged the ip.
[18:57]<msxjv>Looks like someone has a case of the Mondays
[18:57]<msxjv>( me )
[19:19]<[mzvzyw]>Holy crap, I just did a cutover and everything actually worked. o.O
[19:19]<[mzvzyw]>it went smoothly.. I think I'm going to faint.
[19:20]<gndyvx>heh
[19:20]<msxjv>lol
[19:20]<ald>did you check behind the rack, for packets leaking out on the floor?
[19:20]<gndyvx>ok... what the hell was i doing
[19:20]<mw9>lol
[19:21]<msxjv>pretending to work
[19:21]<[mzvzyw]>cpm: No, that was the old circuit. I'll be cleaning up dropped packets for years.
[19:21]<vz2ufzzzsz>[Matrix] where?
[19:21]<gndyvx>dshot: ah right
[19:21]<[mzvzyw]>they're all over the damn floor.
[19:21]<ald>heh
[19:21]<[mzvzyw]>tabularasa: Pt washington
[19:21]<vz2ufzzzsz>cool
[19:22]<vz2ufzzzsz>did that raise moral at the company? :)
[19:22]<[mzvzyw]>went from 92ms latency to 48ms.
[19:22]<ald>that's what a datavac is for, I think.
[19:22]<[mzvzyw]>raised my moral a bit.
[19:22]<vz2ufzzzsz>heh
[19:22]<msxjv>datavac, lol
[19:22]<msxjv>I just have an attachment to the shopvac
[19:22]<msxjv>for data
[19:22]<vz2ufzzzsz>heh
[19:22]<[mzvzyw]>I thought that's what ethereal was for...
[19:23]<msxjv>no, that's for not reading sensitive things on the wire
[19:23]<msxjv>'I don't know dudes, I just guessed there were layoffs, had my shit out of my cube a week in advance...'
[19:24]<sazdn>no email goes unread
[19:25]<vz2ufzzzsz>no attachment unviewed
[19:25]<ald>yeah, I think I need to start hauling my stuff out soon.
[19:25]<vz2ufzzzsz>all your porn are belong to me
[19:25]<ald>heh
[19:26]<[mzvzyw]>that's what administrative shares are for.
[19:27]<vz2ufzzzsz>its an exchange rule to copy all .jpg to my mailbox. :)
[19:41]<fjacmjwg>this place wants to vpn to a windows server and they have a pix at the border, everything i read says the pix can't translate (PAT) GRE packets, if I had an extra public IP address and I mapped that to my windows server would this fix the problem?
[19:42]<vz2ufzzzsz>just PAT 1723 to the windows box
[19:42]<vz2ufzzzsz>tcp
[19:42]<[mzvzyw]>and fixup pptp
[19:42]<[mzvzyw]>fixup pptp takes care of the gre I believe
[19:43]<2frcn>does anyone know if there are serious performance issues when using 'ip dhcp smart-relay', and having an interface with 10+ secondary addresses?
[19:43]<fjacmjwg>ah, cool thanks
[19:44]<2frcn>my production network does not have 10+ secondary addresses on an interface, yet. i'm curious as to whether or not i should add so many secondary addresses in the future, or just use another NIC
[19:45]<[mzvzyw]>never tried it blake
[19:47]<j2rgvr_>blake: That's a lot of secondary addresses, why not segment the network and use dot1q with subinterfaces?
[19:47]<sgnzcm_bzsvzzm>I'm not aware of any hard limits on virtual adapters
[19:48]<sgnzcm_bzsvzzm>oh, wrong context
[19:48]<gndyvx>dot1q would be best
[19:49]<gndyvx>note that CEF is not turned on by default for secondary ip address (ie routing to the same interface)
[19:52]<fjacmjwg>hrm, my pix is version 6.2, fixup pptp is in 6.3 and up, looks like i need a mapping
[19:52]<[mzvzyw]>ouch, just don't think it will work then lockdown, not sure
[19:53]<fjacmjwg>think i might look into upgrading to 6.3
[19:54]<2frcn>obanta_: yeah, that is quite a bit of addresses. i'm basically curious how many secondary addresses will work on a sub-interface doing DHCP 'smart-relay'ing.
[19:54]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>lockdown: if you upgrade you might as well eat the cookie and go all the way to 7.2
[19:54]<2frcn>obanta_: i don't have a problem creating more VLANs if it takes quite some time to hand out addresses because of too many sub-interfaces
[19:54]<vz2ufzzzsz>what model Pix ?
[19:55]<[mzvzyw]>isn't 7.2 like a week old? <.<
[19:55]<vz2ufzzzsz>heh
[19:55]<vz2ufzzzsz>and its 515 and up
[19:57]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>oh, is this an old/baby pix?
[19:57]<vz2ufzzzsz>dunno, thats why i asked
[19:58]<fjacmjwg>its a pix 501, i dont think it can take version 7.x?
[19:58]<vz2ufzzzsz>correct
[19:58]<[mzvzyw]>Anyone got like 10 spare SX GBIC's and some 30 meter MMF patch cables they're looking to get rid of? <.<
[19:58]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>[Matrix]: i threw 7.2(1) on my pix at home like two months ago.
[19:59]<[mzvzyw]>hmm, guess not then
[19:59]<[mzvzyw]>dunno why I thought it just came out
[19:59]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>well, it *did* just come out ... not a whole lot of people are on it just yet
[19:59]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>i have one spare sx gbic
[20:00]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>and i have a couple 5m MMF patch cables
[20:00]<[mzvzyw]>looks like I need to get a 10-pack of fake, chinese GBIC's. :-p
[20:00]<vz2ufzzzsz>heh
[20:01]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>i've heard horror stories about those
[20:01]<[mzvzyw]>well I'll be running redundant uplinks with uplinkfast, can't be too bad... I hope.
[20:03]<[mzvzyw]>damn, I can't believe I've been putting up with this stupid native vlan mismatch crap for so long
[20:04]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>i dunno man, i don't think i'd put known fake stuff in production
[20:04]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>hell, i don't even use the fake NM-1E I have.
[20:04]<[mzvzyw]>I've got a port on my core switch thats connected to a colo's switch with different VTP domain, and I've been getting native vlan mismatch errors forever...
[20:04]<[mzvzyw]>all I had to do was turn off CDP on the damn port, lol
[20:05]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>haha
[20:05]<vz2ufzzzsz>oh really? hilarious
[20:05]<vz2ufzzzsz>that or have them change vlans.. :)
[20:05]<[mzvzyw]>Hmm. I'll have to think about that. ;)
[20:05]<[mzvzyw]>Err, wait.. No I won't.
[20:11]<vz2ufzzzsz>heh, i thought that said "perv
[20:12]<[mzvzyw]>you need help. ;)
[20:18]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>haxx.
