[21:24]<msxjv>'hello' oops
[21:24]<cuvyncjmnz>LOL!
[21:25]<msxjv>That'd solve the job situation right-quick
[21:25]<msxjv>sort of shot myself in the grill, wowie
[21:25]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>haha, yeah ... permanently
[21:25]<cuvyncjmnz>dshot: I'd recommend also that you'd follow a course on how to handle weapons and find yourself some friends who already own some and can be trusted around them
[21:25]<msxjv>yeah, I'd take a course of some sort
[21:25]<cuvyncjmnz>dshot: if you have any mental disorders/syndromes, DO NOT GET A WEAPON.
[21:26]<msxjv>been meaning to over the years actually, just never made the time
[21:26]<cuvyncjmnz>dshot: if you just got divorced, your girlfriend dumped you, lost your job or have bad spirit, DO NOT GET A WEAPON
[21:26]<msxjv>hmm, no more mental than the next Network Arsonist
[21:26]<sxrmns>haha
[21:27]<sxrmns>I object cutie, I even perpose this. You know how military personelle get one free kill and the /absolute worst/ that'll happen to them is they'll get court martialed? Well, every *citizen* should get one of those.
[21:27]<sxrmns>per year.
[21:27]<sxrmns>8 )
[21:28]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>i think every management position in the country would be rotated once a year if that were the case
[21:28]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>BSDaemon: fire good
[21:29]<sxrmns>Change is good.
[21:29]<sxrmns>according to confucious, anyway.
[21:29]<msxjv>I think it'd be a good release, go to the range, shoot...
[21:30]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>it's a great release.
[21:30]<bsdrgdjg>hey, whats that device thats like a standalone WiSM for 100 client APs?
[21:30]<msxjv>lol aironet 1100... talk about burning bridges
[21:30]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>haha
[21:30]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>geek humour :)
[21:30]<msxjv>aye
[21:30]<bsdrgdjg>this entire university are 1100s
[21:30]<mzgsxvz>Nobbie: AFAIK 3500 dont route, they only switch
[21:31]<mzgsxvz>at L2
[21:31]<nj22yn>danshtr: mmm, could be why they have no: ip routing command ?
[21:31]<mzgsxvz>right...
[21:31]<nj22yn>is that even better then a hub ?
[21:32]<mzgsxvz>sure, its L2 switch
[21:32]<gndyvx>3500XL or 3550/3560 ?
[21:32]<msxjv>You know, I normally don't do fast food, but I have to admit that after a very long personal ban on Taco Bell, the crunchwrap supreme is good times
[21:32]<nj22yn>3500XL
[21:32]<gndyvx>yeah they won
[21:32]<gndyvx>they won't route.. it is just a bit of IOS in them that doesn't do anything
[21:32]<gndyvx>like "no ip address" on a 2950-E
[21:33]<sxrmns>Your arteries aren't going to thank you.
[21:33]<bsdrgdjg>dshot: did you get fries supreme? :D
[21:33]<msxjv>never had it
[21:33]<nj22yn>hehe. which is why they can't even do dot1x
[21:33]<gndyvx>right
[21:33]<msxjv>lol 3500XL doing dot1x
[21:33]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>3550 can barely do dot1x
[21:33]<cuvyncjmnz>ShadeS: we're talking about a civilian here
[21:34]<msxjv>I'm glad I haven't seen any XLs or G-L3's, etc in awhile
[21:34]<msxjv>like to forget about them entirely like they never existed
[21:34]<nj22yn>tomoroow i have to convince financial plebs why we want Cisco incstead of HP ProCurve
[21:34]<gndyvx>go figure, they are really freaking old
[21:34]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>someone is suppossed to be giving me a 3548XL here in the next few days
[21:34]<vz2ufzzzsz>giving?
[21:34]<msxjv>Nobbie: One works well, one doesn't. I'll leave you to guess.
[21:34]<msxjv>I hate HPs
[21:34]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>yes, in exchange for a couple hard disks i gave him a few months ago
[21:34]<gndyvx>Nobbie: which models are you looking at?
[21:35]<nj22yn>my choise is obviously Cisco. but that doesn't justify paying doube
[21:35]<mzgsxvz>Nobbie: you are right
[21:35]<msxjv>getting a discount?
[21:35]<cuvyncjmnz>nemith!!!
[21:35]<msxjv>or just straight list?
[21:35]<nj22yn>nemith: Cisco 4500 + 3750 vs HP ProCurve 5400 and 2848
[21:35]<vz2ufzzzsz>loather: good deal
[21:35]<gndyvx>Nobbie: shouldn't be too hard
[21:35]<msxjv>ugh 2848, have a 2824 sitting right here on my desk and a 4104gl
[21:35]<nj22yn>we have Cisco OIP pricing, even then HP comes in at about half the price
[21:35]<gndyvx>Nobbie: do you have a Cisco CE right now?
[21:35]<gndyvx>er SE
[21:35]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>tabularasa: no kidding. i'm happy about it.
[21:35]<gndyvx>hey CutieCoder!
[21:36]<nj22yn>nemith: SE ?
[21:36]<msxjv>if you plan on getting advertised backplane out of the HP's, don't even try... if it's just piddly stuff you can wing it
[21:36]<mzgsxvz>dshot: its not HP at all, the resell switches
[21:36]<gndyvx>Nobbie: Sales Engineer or AM (Account Manager)
[21:36]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>procurves are great for, say, the accounting department's desktops
[21:36]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>or marketing
[21:36]<mzgsxvz>dshot: they just dont know the tech details about what they sell
[21:36]<fjzvxnz-wjzc>or something that doesn't really matter
[21:36]<gndyvx>Nobbie: i guess i should ask who you are planningto buy the cisco gear through
[21:36]<nj22yn>nemith: yeah, met them on friday at Cisco Systems .za
[21:37]<gndyvx>ask your AM to get information on HP vs Cisco
[21:37]<nj22yn>i did, they didn't
[21:37]<gndyvx>if your company has an NDA you should get some
[21:37]<gndyvx>really?
[21:37]<nj22yn>yep
[21:37]<nj22yn>they just explained the diff between the business models in the warranty swap-outs vs SLA's
[21:38]<gndyvx>they have access to docs comparing them
[21:38]<msxjv>There are actually a few large installations from at least 1.5 years ago where HP's engineers had to pay for and install Cisco gear for their client because they couldn't get the HP's to perform.
[21:38]<msxjv>check out HP's forums
[21:38]<gndyvx>(course the comparisions are usually for sales men and also lists downfalls)
[21:38]<msxjv>you'll see lots of nice stuff
[21:38]<nj22yn>nemith: do you ? or do you know where they are so that i can tell them where to find it ?
[21:38]<gndyvx>Nobbie: i am afraid not, but I've gotten a lot of prezo's on them
[21:38]<nj22yn>dshot: HOP forums highlight HP Procurve problems ?
[21:39]<cuvyncjmnz>procurves... ugh
[21:39]<gndyvx>there used to be one on PEC (partner elearning connection)
[21:39]<msxjv>you can get an idea on some of the HP issues, yeah
[21:39]<cuvyncjmnz>they're not that bad... they get the job done, but don't expect too much from them
[21:39]<msxjv>pretty much
