[01:23]<szznz>and their on hold music, is horrid
[01:23]<ayvyfvna>Hello, I have a couple of quick questions:
[01:24]<szznz>they wont let me talk to a tech,, without a contract, but i cant find out what is involved in getting a new ios without one
[01:24]<fjfkyffr>yes. no. maybe.
[01:24]<szznz>this is the catch 22 of the ages
[01:24]<ayvyfvna> Can the Cisco 1841 or 2801 act as LAN routers between interfaces if you configure multiple subnets on the different interfaces?
[01:34]<szznz>48 mins
[01:35]<szznz>this is nuts
[01:42]<szznz>56 minxs
[01:42]<szznz>and another transfee
[01:42]<szznz>transfre
[01:42]<szznz>wow
[01:42]<szznz>transfer even
[01:43]<xjarvyaxggay>Sager, what are you trying to do
[01:43]<szznz>i am lookin into how much it would cost to get the 2600 under contract
[01:43]<szznz>so i can get a new ios for the damn thing
[01:43]<szznz>i have 12.0 on it
[01:43]<xjarvyaxggay>you can't get new ios without contracts?
[01:43]<szznz>and ip address dhcp wasnt added till 12.1
[01:43]<szznz>seems so
[01:43]<xjarvyaxggay>Ugh
[01:44]<szznz>i cant get a straight answer out of anyone at cisco
[01:44]<szznz>they all sound like they are stoned
[01:44]<szznz>i am on my 9th transfer in an hour
[01:44]<xjarvyaxggay>i wonder what the heck the switch i ordered will run
[01:44]<szznz>i bought a 2600 from a hotel that upgraded their cais internet system
[01:44]<szznz>i need to use it on my dsl now, because my smc died last night
[01:44]<szznz>and my network is down
[01:45]<szznz>i have it nearly configured, but i cant get 0/1 to get an ip
[01:45]<szznz>because dhcp isnt supported for wan side
[01:45]<xjarvyaxggay>couldn't you dhcp with a normal machine plugged straight in, then copy over the information?
[01:45]<szznz>ya well maybe
[01:46]<xjarvyaxggay>sort of a hack but it'd work
[01:46]<szznz>but i dont have any boxes configured with 2 nics at the moment
[01:46]<xjarvyaxggay>dunno why you'd need more than 1 nic to do that
[01:46]<xjarvyaxggay>just switch the cables over
[01:46]<szznz>in the mean time, my http , ftp, and ircd are all offline
[01:46]<-- svgvzsdyzgjvz xzs>/dev/null")
[01:46]<szznz>i am the main hub of the irc net, so both other servers are split
[01:47]<szznz>i would need one for the dsl to go to
[01:47]<xjarvyaxggay>off a dsl connection? brave.
[01:47]<szznz>then another one to go to the switch
[01:47]<szznz>i have 6400/640k dsl
[01:47]<szznz>but its dynamic
[01:47]<szznz>but with the smc's renew ip forever,
[01:47]<szznz>i have had ips over 2 years
[01:48]<yrcryrxv>Sager, do you have an account (have you registered on CISCO.com) with CISCO?
[01:48]<szznz>i really hope the router doesnt accept every newly offered ip the CO does
[01:48]<[mzvzyw_]>you're going to get a different IP when your MAC address changes
[01:48]<szznz>well they regged me over the phone
[01:48]<szznz>but, the login isnt working yet
[01:48]<szznz>well the mac shouldnt change once its all connected
[01:48]<yrcryrxv>Sager, for shits and giggles try creating a new account and see if this helps. http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/iosswrel/tsd_products_support_category_home.html
[01:49]<yrcryrxv>not sure if that is what you are looking for, but it LOOKS like you can download the ISOs
[01:49]<szznz>Existing Users Sign In
[01:49]<szznz>
[01:49]<szznz>Invalid e-mail address or password.
[01:49]<szznz>E-mail Address
[01:49]<szznz>every time
[01:49]<yrcryrxv>Sager, try to make a new account, see if that works
[01:49]<szznz>i got on that page without it
[01:50]<szznz>which one would i need for a 2600 home router
[01:50]<szznz>hehe
[01:50]<szznz>with several servers
[01:50]<szznz>i have no idea which to get
[01:51]<yrcryrxv>Sager, sorry, not a clue on that one. Let me do some more digging, but checking at the moment to see if I am even able to download an ISO without a contract
[01:51]<szznz>hehee
[01:51]<szznz>i would have ya send it to my ftp
[01:51]<szznz>but its down
[01:51]<szznz>LOL
[01:52]<xjarvyaxggay>Sager, you really need multihomed internet ;)
[01:52]<szznz>omg iam on the download page now hehehe
[01:52]<xjarvyaxggay>or some sort of redundancy
[01:52]<yrcryrxv>would not be able to do it anyway, I have that lovely thing called dialup, and its 26.4Kbps :)
[01:52]<szznz>do you guys have a pasting channel
[01:53]<szznz> IOS Software
[01:53]<szznz>Cisco IOS Release 12.2(22)S
[01:53]<szznz>Cisco IOS Release 12.2(20)S3
[01:53]<szznz>Cisco IOS Release 12.2(20)S2
[01:53]<rfv>pastebin.something or other
[01:53]<rfv>google it
[01:53]<szznz>theres like 12 others
[01:53]<szznz>which should i get hehehe
[01:53]<szznz>anyone know how to load them
[01:54]<yrcryrxv>Sager, there should be directions on CISCO's site on how to upload them, think you need to use TFTP, not sure, been a LONG time for me

[01:59]<fjfkyffr>when configuring port-security , i have one interface that is hooked up to a Cisco Aironet 1100, as far as my understanding goes, i'm suppose to add all mac-addresses to the users who will be connecting wirelessly through that WAP. is this correct?
[01:59]<szznz>one of my lappys
[01:59]<yrcryrxv>Sager, your laptop has 310.3G of free space??
[01:59]<szznz>no, 1/2 that
[02:00]<szznz>it has 2 internal 80 gig drives
[02:00]<szznz>they are raid 0
[02:00]<szznz>but somehow, it also thought the floppy was that
[02:00]<szznz>cracked me up when i saw it
[02:00]<szznz>160 gig floppy
[02:00]<szznz>its a Sager notebook
[02:00]<szznz>hehe
[02:00]<szznz>3k buxx in aug 2003
[02:01]<yrcryrxv>PopKilla, You will need to add all the MAC addys to the Access Point that will connect if you have MAC filtering on, correct. WAP is just a security protocol
