[02:14]<szznz>to get it
[02:15]<szznz>its not like i make 1000s of dollars with this network
[02:15]<szznz>it just doesnt seem right to make me buy a contract to make it work
[02:15]<szznz>u would think they would at least offer older ones for free
[02:16]<szznz>maybe not the latest and greatest
[02:16]<szznz>but ones that they have already made their money on
[02:16]<szznz>man this sucks hehehe
[02:17]<msxjv>Is it Friday yet?
[02:17]<fjsvnf>getting there
[02:18]<yrcryrxv>Sager, know how it is man. We had over a $6,000 2600 at my last job that was not working, they sent us knew cards, and two others before we finally got a working one.
[02:19]<szznz>lol
[02:19]<szznz>well mine would work great, if i had a damned t1 line here
[02:19]<szznz>but i dont hehe
[02:19]<szznz>dshot, i have been saying that since i woke up monday
[02:22]<fjfkyffr>igknight -> after addined all the mac-addresses for the people that are on the WAP, what if somebody tries to hop on, will it kill the connection to the existing valid WAP users?
[02:24]<yrcryrxv>PopKilla, if their MAC is not listed on the AP, it will not allow them to fully connect, but they can still spoof a MAC if they want. If they do, and the real MAC is online, it could have issues with it.
[02:24]<fjfkyffr>kk
[02:24]<fjfkyffr>thnaks for info
[02:25]<yrcryrxv>np
[02:46]<vcul>anyone who has a spare 2503?

[03:36]<vcul>later all
[03:49]<cuvyncjmnz>evening
[04:00]<xum2jfmv>I am trying to download the latest software for my 2924-XL switches. I get a little confused about which file to download: IOS image, IOS img + CMS files, LRE IOS +CMS, LRE IOS?
[04:00]<xum2jfmv>What is LRE, what is CMS?
[04:01]<xum2jfmv>Ah, the one is for switches with 16:8 MB DRAM:Flash and the other for 8:4
[04:01]<xum2jfmv>Is clustering still state of the art?
[04:03]<xum2jfmv>Anyhow, what ever I download, it all seems to be the same file!
[04:03]<xum2jfmv>same kb
[04:04]<xum2jfmv>and bin instead of tar
[04:05]<xum2jfmv>And all the releases available (even the "previous releases") are marked ED (early development)?!
[04:21]<xum2jfmv>Is it save to remove the original IOS image from a switch so I have enough space for an upgrade?
[04:22]<-- arfvyr xrs fuyv (>xgl")

[05:09]<hzddnztjn>anyone here with CCO access give me a hand... I'm trying to fix a 2600 shipped with (I think) deffective rommon chips... supposedly there is a workaround at: http://www.cisco.com/warp/customer/770/fn-1998-149-1.shtml but guest cisco.com access doesn't let me access it
[05:09]<hzddnztjn>anyone here do me a favour and take a look at tell me what the workaround is?
[05:19]<dzzc1lyvn>hey nemith
[05:44]<sxrmns>hey
[05:50]<[mzvzyw_]>Sager: You have to enable NAT on that thing
[05:57]<sxrmns>still having problems w/ that sager?
[06:03]<sxrmns>could anyone offer ideas on what else I can do to improve the security of my network?
[06:04]<psdrxjsys-rpc>hi guys....
[06:04]<sxrmns>what's your issue? 8 p
[06:04]<psdrxjsys-rpc>friend of mine has a 2611 router with 12.1(27b) with 2 enets
[06:05]<sxrmns>and?
[06:05]<psdrxjsys-rpc>eth0/0 is the lan int giving out dhcp just fine
[06:05]<psdrxjsys-rpc>eth0/1 is hooked to his dsl
[06:05]<psdrxjsys-rpc>how can we get the eth0/1 to pull an ip dynamically?
[06:05]<[mzvzyw_]>must be Sager
[06:06]<psdrxjsys-rpc>hehehe
[06:06]<psdrxjsys-rpc>yeh thats the one
[06:06]<psdrxjsys-rpc>ive always used static ips on the routers
[06:06]<[mzvzyw_]>conf t, int e0/1, ip address dhcp
[06:06]<sxrmns>conf t, int eth0/1 , ip address dhcp
[06:06]<sxrmns>I think
[06:06]<psdrxjsys-rpc>so i have no clue about the dhcp
[06:06]<psdrxjsys-rpc>ok we will try
[06:06]<sxrmns>static is teh way to g0
[06:07]<psdrxjsys-rpc>yeh ns
[06:07]<sxrmns>ugh imagine hounding a tech support dude to set an ip or whatever for you to log on
[06:07]<sxrmns>that would be bogus.
[06:07]<[mzvzyw_]>can't believe he talked Cisco into giving him 12.1 lol
[06:07]<psdrxjsys-rpc>he didn't
[06:07]<[mzvzyw_]>oh, lol
[06:07]<psdrxjsys-rpc>i helped him
[06:07]<[mzvzyw_]>gotcha
[06:07]<psdrxjsys-rpc>invalid input detected
