[00:00]<djgsvnzdus>hey if u have 2 incomming connections can u make another interface mimik one of them and if it goes down then it would chose the other interface
[00:01]<dzzc1lyvn>omg
[00:01]<dzzc1lyvn>france won
[00:01]<djgsvnzdus>lol
[00:01]<djgsvnzdus>world cup id assume :P
[00:01]<dzzc1lyvn>yeah
[00:02]<dzzc1lyvn>they are going to the finals
[00:02]<djgsvnzdus>or something like it
[00:02]<djgsvnzdus>lol
[00:02]<dzzc1lyvn>wars are only for americans
[00:02]<djgsvnzdus>unless the winning condition was to wave a white flag
[00:02]<djgsvnzdus>but didnt france help usa defeat the english?
[00:03]<gndyvx>who cares
[00:03]<djgsvnzdus>so they could get their independance
[00:03]<gndyvx>they won off a PK which kinda sucks
[00:03]<djgsvnzdus>history does
[00:03]<gndyvx>monstermus: i don't see history here
[00:03]<djgsvnzdus>lol
[00:03]<djgsvnzdus>its important
[00:03]<djgsvnzdus>but anyway
[00:03]<djgsvnzdus>can u make a dynamic interface
[00:04]<djgsvnzdus>or something smilir
[00:04]<djgsvnzdus>similar
[00:04]<djgsvnzdus>well
[00:04]<djgsvnzdus>im limited to a cisco switch
[00:04]<djgsvnzdus>router i mean
[00:05]<djgsvnzdus>i need to have 1 interface to have interfaces in it where it prefers one of them and if that one goes down then it would use the second interface
[00:06]<gndyvx>you can on switches
[00:06]<gndyvx>oh
[00:06]<gndyvx>do it via routing
[00:06]<djgsvnzdus>on the same router?
[00:06]<wu2zzzdnz>hey guys !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
[00:07]<gndyvx>sure
[00:07]<vcul>France used to owned almost all of the south here in the us. a majority of the streets here are french-named
[00:07]<gndyvx>what kind of interfaces?
[00:07]<vcul>s/owned/own
[00:07]<wu2zzzdnz>i'm having an issue with my wrt54g's
[00:07]<sazdn>tkup : um no?
[00:07]<djgsvnzdus>1 adsl and one 200 mbit fiber
[00:07]<gndyvx>lousiana purchace maybe?
[00:07]<wu2zzzdnz>any help ?
[00:07]<gndyvx>you can use a floating static route
[00:07]<sazdn>if you are talking about the cajuns, they were shipped from maine and acadia down south
[00:07]<wu2zzzdnz>can anybody see me ?
[00:07]<sazdn>to get the french out of maine
[00:07]<vcul>Scrye, don't make me start on canada
[00:07]<sazdn>northen maine used to be canada
[00:08]<gndyvx>wubrgamer: no
[00:08]<wu2zzzdnz>alright
[00:08]<gndyvx>we don't support linksys in this channel
[00:08]<gndyvx>sorry
[00:08]<wu2zzzdnz>it's basic
[00:08]<gndyvx>exactly
[00:08]<wu2zzzdnz>if i plug in a wrt54g as a client to another one
[00:08]<djgsvnzdus>well the interface needs to be the same
[00:08]<djgsvnzdus>since my tunnels have it as source
[00:08]<djgsvnzdus>mgre tunnels :P
[00:08]<wu2zzzdnz>this is just a basic networking question
[00:08]<gndyvx>use a loopback for the tunnels
[00:09]<djgsvnzdus>hmm
[00:09]<djgsvnzdus>any links to something
[00:09]<djgsvnzdus>so i can read on it
[00:09]<wu2zzzdnz>if i plug in a wrt54g as a client to another one, can i access internet from the client router ? or do i have to use the connection from the top level one ?
[00:09]<wu2zzzdnz>what would i have to do ?
[00:09]<dzzc1lyvn>nemith
[00:10]<dzzc1lyvn>route maps are really god
[00:10]<dzzc1lyvn>good..
[00:10]<dzzc1lyvn>plus PBR
[00:10]<wu2zzzdnz>thank you !
[00:10]<gndyvx>i hate PBR
[00:10]<gndyvx>route-maps are great for redistribution and BGP
[00:11]<z2zzvus>how do you change the bios time on a 2800?
[00:11]<z2zzvus>its off by an hour
[00:11]<djgsvnzdus>set time? or something similar
[00:11]<gndyvx>clock set
[00:11]<gndyvx>also check your timezone / summer-time settings
[00:12]<z2zzvus>router(config)#clock se?
[00:12]<gndyvx>it would be better to use NTP
[00:12]<z2zzvus>% Unrecognized command
[00:12]<gndyvx>jbartus: try it in enable mode
[00:12]<djgsvnzdus>yup ntp is nice
[00:13]<gndyvx>Dark3Lite: the issues with PBR is that it is static
[00:13]<z2zzvus>i have it using ntp but for some reason it was staying off by an hour, i assumed because ntp will only correct within a certain range (like in linux)
[00:13]<gndyvx>The only real use i've seen for PBR is to seperate out traffic and VRF-lite does a much cleaner and better job of this
[00:13]<z2zzvus>is there a command line way to force an ntp sync?
[00:13]<gndyvx>jbartus: thats cause your timezone or summer-time is out of sync
[00:14]<z2zzvus>i used "EST5EDT -5"
[00:14]<dzzc1lyvn>yea nemith
[00:14]<gndyvx>are you in daylight savings?
[00:14]<dzzc1lyvn>it's all static
[00:14]<z2zzvus>it has the day correct, so shouldn't it get DST right on its own?
[00:14]<gndyvx>clock timezone MST -7
[00:14]<gndyvx>clock summer-time MST recurring
[00:15]<gndyvx>for example
[00:15]<gndyvx>you have to define DST
[00:15]<gndyvx>EST5EDT is just a name
[00:15]<gndyvx>so add clock summer-time EST5EDT recurring
[00:15]<-- 2yd2nzy xrs fuyv>http://iownmymusic.org/ http://iownmydvds.org/")
[00:16]<gndyvx>is you want to have it do the new DST there are some additional commands
[00:16]<djgsvnzdus>nemith can u explain a little more regarding that loopback interface and floating static route
