[00:00]<sazdn>neither does cisco, they like only one vendor in your network, thiers
[00:00]<zxyr>Scrye: hehe
[00:02]<dzrr0g`>lol
[00:02]<sdac2jd>hehehe
[00:05]<gndyvx>Scrye: heh
[00:05]<gndyvx>Scrye++
[00:06]<vz2ufzzzsz>way to join two subjects back on track
[00:10]<sazdn>does cisco give free trials like sun does?
[00:10]<thxq000>Anyone know of a devious way to get cisco 7900 firmwares?
[00:11]<sazdn>buy it
[00:11]<vz2ufzzzsz>try efnet's cisco channel
[00:11]<vz2ufzzzsz>:)
[00:11]<dzrr0g`>THX2000, get a CCIE?
[00:11]<thxq000>well that isn't exactly devious :P
[00:11]<vz2ufzzzsz>they would prob hack you if you asked
[00:11]<sazdn>perhaps remove networks 2006 from the channel and add "NO WAREZ"
[00:11]<sazdn>networkers
[00:12]<sazdn>alt : you there?
[00:12]<gndyvx>Scrye: depends
[00:12]<gndyvx>there is a free trial of ACS
[00:12]<gndyvx>for example
[00:12]<rfv>hey Scrye
[00:12]<sazdn>hardware i eas asking about
[00:12]<gndyvx>oh yeah
[00:13]<gndyvx>of course
[00:13]<sazdn>got a url?
[00:13]<sazdn>or is that a distributor thing
[00:13]<gndyvx>Scrye: it's through your Cisco AM
[00:13]<sazdn>alt: familiar with primus (the voip telephone company specifically)?
[00:13]<rfv>funny thing. I'm set up with them on a wholesale level :P
[00:13]<rfv>not retail that most people go through
[00:14]<sazdn>will thier stuff take an asterisk server for termination?
[00:14]<sazdn>i think its cisco call manager stuff they are using
[00:15]<dzzc1lyvn>later al
[00:15]<gndyvx>IP centrix service?
[00:15]<dzzc1lyvn>going home.
[00:15]<rfv>oh. that's a different thing. I'm set up as wholesale and the rules are different. I don't know how they do it as retail. but if it is just a SIP proxy, then you should be able to register your Asterisk install with them.
[00:18]<-- svgvsdyzgjvr__ xr>/dev/null")
[00:23]<sdac2jd>how can i get cisco demos?
[00:23]<gndyvx>contact your cisco AM
[00:24]<sdac2jd>do i just say Bitch I need me some demos?!
[00:26]<gndyvx>uh not really
[00:26]<gndyvx>you gotta be serious about evaluating it
[00:26]<gndyvx>for example we are eval'ing the airespace stuff now
[00:26]<fjsvnf>THX2000: Which one you're after? sip loads 8.2 areavailable from cisco for free
[00:26]<gndyvx>and the WAFS stuff
[00:27]<gndyvx>postel: thats not devious
[00:27]<fjsvnf>well, 8.3 is the latest. And breaks quite some things
[00:27]<thxq000>I was going to try to tinker w/ a few...wanted to try an sccp and a sip
[00:27]<fjsvnf>so i guess 8.3 is more devious to deploy
[00:27]<gndyvx>is that the same code going to be used for CCM 5.0?
[00:28]<thxq000>trying to see which one will work best w/ my asterisk setup
[00:28]<gndyvx>or do they have a special sip release
[00:28]<fjsvnf>THX2000: oh, you on *, 8.2, 8.3 breaks MWI
[00:29]<thxq000>u on * too?
[00:29]<fjsvnf>THX2000: mostly on drugs
[00:29]<thxq000>lol, nice
[00:30]<fjsvnf>let me get you a link for it
[00:30]<fjsvnf>http://www.cisco.com/pcgi-bin/Software/Tablebuild/doftp.pl?ftpfile=pub/voice/ip-phone/sip-7960/P0S3-08-2-00.zip&swtype=FCS
[00:30]<fjsvnf>thereyou are
[00:31]<fjsvnf>no CCO needed
[00:31]<gndyvx>i would stay sip
[00:31]<gndyvx>sccp is being phased out of cisco's products
[00:31]<fjsvnf>nooo
[00:31]<fjsvnf>skinny is great
[00:31]<thxq000>sweet
[00:31]<gndyvx>well they have a custom sip load now for CCM
[00:31]<thxq000>Well i just install chan_sccp2 on my box
[00:32]<thxq000>got the phones yesterday so im clearly a bit green at the whole thing
[00:32]<thxq000>*installed
[00:32]<fjsvnf>parses xml so much better than the sip loads, the sound quality is even better, the featureset is greater
[00:32]<fjsvnf>keep skinny alive ffs
[00:32]<l0svd9g>I'm trying to trunk between to switchs. I have a 2950 here and a 2900. When I do do switchport mode ? on the 2900 there is no option for "trunk" any ideas on what the deal is?
[00:33]<l0svd9g>the 2950 allowed me to set a port to trunk no problem
[00:33]<thxq000>postel: have u tried chan_sccp2?
[00:33]<fjsvnf>yes
[00:33]<thxq000>u like skinny better?
[00:33]<l0svd9g>console of the 2900 I see some complaints about 802.1q and it shuts down the interface
[00:33]<sdac2jd>man one of my dogs is pissed
[00:34]<gndyvx>L0stm4n: 4meg or 8meg of ram on the 2900xl
[00:34]<fjsvnf>THX2000: depends on the use, if you dont want/care about the extra features go for SIP. I developed custom xml apps and found that skinny parsed xml a million ways better
[00:35]<l0svd9g>looks like 4 nemith
[00:35]<l0svd9g>cisco WS-C2924-XL (PowerPC403GA) processor (revision 0x11) with 4096K/640K bytes
[00:35]<l0svd9g> of memory.
[00:35]<pzvzyac_c>could someone please give me link how i do assign a ip to my 2924 and enable telnet?
[00:36]<pzvzyac_c>thanks in advance
[00:36]<gndyvx>4meg 2900XL will not do dot1q
[00:36]<l0svd9g>gah damn
[00:36]<gndyvx>should do isl
[00:37]<l0svd9g>ok maybe I'll play with that. Or poke around the office and see if I can find something newer that'll do dot1q
