[21:45]<kjr>JoA_Farore: 115
[21:45]<jjz_fzzjzn>If you don't know whether you're Bin Laden or not then how can our goverment ever hope to find and ass rape you?
[21:45]<jjz_fzzjzn>any C++/CLI programmers in the room?
[21:45]<wyfaj>just ask your question
[21:45]<lxlwgnz>they can _only_ hope
[21:46]<jjz_fzzjzn>Numa Numa
[21:49]<lxlwgnz>how do i expose a class level variable through a web service?
[21:52]<vynvyv>mufdvr: yes
[21:53]<mupmvz>have you done much w/ it using xml or moreso from a db?
[21:56]<srlj>hi guys, anyone knows if there is any way to make 2 ComboBoxColumns inside a DataGridView be related? something like.. if i select a category in one, the other just hows the items from data category
[21:59]<sz2yzgrzzsx>yep
[21:59]<sz2yzgrzzsx>have an itemchanged eventhandler tied to a method that updates that other drowndown
[22:00]<srlj>sabiancrash hum.. so i need to make the update by hand?
[22:00]<vynvyv>mufdvr: only from a db
[22:01]<mupmvz>http://www.neodynamic.com/ND/FaqsTipsTricks.aspx?tabid=66&prodid=3&sid=22
[22:01]<mupmvz>think that might do what i want
[22:01]<srlj>mufdvr thanx i ll take a look
[22:02]<mupmvz>sapo: that wasnt 4 u
[22:02]<mupmvz>sorry
[22:02]<srlj>mufdvr ok :)
[22:35]<dyguw>Can you give me a word similar to sandbox, toolbox, palette?
[22:36]<dyguw>I'm writing a little framework, but I don't know what name to use...
[22:37]<jjz_fzzjzn>and I'm back
[22:38]<jjz_fzzjzn>what's wrong with toolbox?
[22:38]<dyguw>Toolbox just isn't that 20th Century =)
[22:39]<jjz_fzzjzn>actually it's very 20th century
[22:39]<jjz_fzzjzn>21st century uses ToolBoxStrip, haha
[22:39]<dyguw>lol
[22:39]<dyguw>Well, you get the point. :)
[22:40]<jjz_fzzjzn>I don't see anything wrong with the word
[22:40]<dyguw>I hardly think Microsoft would name one of their business management applications "Toolbox".
[22:40]<jjz_fzzjzn>oh
[22:40]<jjz_fzzjzn>wait, you're not talking about a single control?
[22:40]<jjz_fzzjzn>but a framework?
[22:40]<jjz_fzzjzn>what's the framework for
[22:40]<dyguw>Nope, an entire application =)
[22:41]<dyguw>Well, the application will just be a server and client solution with plugins for stuff like contact management, mail or whatever you want to put in it.
[22:41]<dyguw>So I need a name for the little "framework".
[22:42]<jjz_fzzjzn>very general
[22:42]<jjz_fzzjzn>it's an Outlook framework?
[22:42]<dyguw>Nope.
[22:43]<jjz_fzzjzn>what do you intend it to be used for?
[22:43]<dyguw>Well, currently I work on a road management application for a construction company.
[22:44]<jjz_fzzjzn>so it's a communication framework
[22:44]<dyguw>Let's say I get another customer next month that wants a cow management application for a farm. Then I can just implement two .DLLs and put them in the right directory and the application suddenl got new functionality.
[22:44]<jjz_fzzjzn>project management or just contact management?
[22:44]<jjz_fzzjzn>so it's purely a plugin harness
[22:45]<jjz_fzzjzn>call it Minux.PluginSDK
[22:45]<dyguw>It's like VisualStudio, visualstudio itself is just the window and support for docks and plugins etc. To make VisualStudio actually do something you need to install products. (Look in the about dialog).
[22:45]<dyguw>Visual C#, InstallShield Editor, etc... which will all add to the functionality of Visual Studio,.
[22:46]<jjz_fzzjzn>yeah
[22:46]<jjz_fzzjzn>but VS still has a purpose on its on
[22:46]<jjz_fzzjzn>one does not install CowManagement in VS
[22:46]<dyguw>Of course not.
[22:46]<dyguw>But VS works the same way when dealing with development as my system will do for business management.
[22:46]<dyguw>I just need a need a name for the darn thing =)
[22:47]<jjz_fzzjzn>the point is your framework has to have some purpose if you want a purpose-based name. Otherwise go out into the world of neat words like Mono, Mozilla, and Thunderbird, and pick one and call it that
[22:47]<jjz_fzzjzn>ah Business Management
[22:47]<jjz_fzzjzn>any commonality between all the hypothetical plugins?
[22:47]<jjz_fzzjzn>call it Agorazo
[22:47]<dyguw>What does Agorazo mean?
[22:48]<deeree>CowManagement?, i must have missed that one during installation :)
[22:48]<jjz_fzzjzn>why does that matter?
[22:48]<jjz_fzzjzn>you just need a name for the darn thing, call it Agorazo
[22:49]<fzdnzwwnnqnn0q1o>call it 'winnar'
[22:49]<dyguw>It seems to be religious.
[22:50]<dyguw>I wonder if it's in my 2662 page english dictionary.
[22:50]<jjz_fzzjzn>It's a modern greek word meaning to buy
[22:50]<jjz_fzzjzn>Agorazw
[22:50]<jjz_fzzjzn>I'm feeling that the modern agoraphobia
[22:50]<jjz_fzzjzn>a fear of open places
[22:51]<jjz_fzzjzn>may derive from a fear of the market place
[22:51]<jjz_fzzjzn>market place connects to Business Management
[22:51]<jjz_fzzjzn>and that's how I came up with it
[22:51]<dyguw>ah, nice
[22:53]<dyguw>Yup, it's in my dictionary.
[22:56]<afnwyt>hello
[22:56]<jjz_fzzjzn>geia sou
[22:56]<afnwyt>does anyone know of any telnet libraries for .NET
[23:05]<dyguw>Agorazo, yeah, why not...
[23:09]<aafygvjg>sometimes I think that there are more windows users on Monologue than Linux programmers
[23:09]<aafygvjg>why are they on monologue at all?
[23:11]<jjz_fzzjzn>anyone else need a name of greek origin
[23:11]<jjz_fzzjzn>you know where to find me
[23:14]<-- dvxn|syzzzyus xzs>http://www.bagdadsoftware.de")
[23:43]<rrvsndn>like i need it as a windows service
[23:43]<dyguw>eh, what?
[23:43]<dyguw>write a stand-alone windows service and write a stand-alone management application
[23:43]<azyfm>you can still have your windows service, you just need to write another app to manage it
[23:44]<azyfm>actually, you *could* write it as a single app, that's either run as a service or a management console depending on command line args
[23:44]<azyfm>Apache2.exe works like that
[23:44]<rrvsndn>all i need is for this windows service to open up an exe
[23:44]<azyfm>(if you can call the command line a "management console")
[23:45]<nvzzfzsv>haha, in the unix world practically all services "work like that"
[23:45]<azyfm>that's because they don't have real services :-P
[23:45]<nvzzfzsv>exactly ;)
[23:46]<rrvsndn>like i noticed that it did open my exe
[23:46]<rrvsndn>but it doesnt show up in the system tray
