[11:59]<zgzzcygnv>umm
[11:59]<zgzzcygnv>there should be a Random method of the Math class i think
[11:59]<lyfuym-wjzc>I hate you all
[11:59]<lyfuym-wjzc>:(
[11:59]<[dam]>ahaha
[11:59]<zyccus>AnarkiNet: scroll back :P
[11:59]<ceredtuw>Is there a "this" in C#?
[11:59]<ceredtuw>this.func
[11:59]<lyfuym-wjzc>no
[11:59]<zyccus>yes
[11:59]<zgzzcygnv>................................
[11:59]<ceredtuw>lol
[12:00]<lyfuym-wjzc>we dont use this
[12:00]<lyfuym-wjzc>we use me
[12:00]<ceredtuw>me.func :) haha
[12:00]<zgzzcygnv>its this
[12:00]<zgzzcygnv>but CrazyTux, next time: TRY IT, instead of asking a stupid question
[12:00]<zyccus>Liquid-Work is joking
[12:00]<ceredtuw>AnarkiNet, will do
[12:00]<zyccus>CrazyTux: google for 'SnippetCompiler' - it's handy for trying out stuff quickly.
[12:01]<ceredtuw>rikkus, alrighty.
[12:02]<lyfuym-wjzc>is this not #vb.net?
[12:02]<lyfuym-wjzc>hmmm
[12:02]<lyfuym-wjzc>I have been here for 6 years
[12:02]<lyfuym-wjzc>and I only notice it now
[12:02]<lyfuym-wjzc>:()
[12:04]<sdnffdxdlld>fucking router :/
[12:05]<zyccus>smellyhippy: what's up with it?
[12:09]<y-gz>if I want an array of int[] how to define that?
[12:10]<[dam]>List<int> array = new List<int>(); ;]
[12:12]<zyccus>i-nZ: int[] arr = new int[20];
[12:15]<sdnffdxdlld>its over heating :/
[12:15]<[dam]>move it?
[12:15]<sdnffdxdlld>and WTF is the extra data coming from when i send stuff to sql server .... serisouly WTF *screams* its too fucking hot for this shit ... 0 bytes means 0 fucking bytes not howevere much is random decided to be added on
[12:16]<sdnffdxdlld>[DcM]: yeah cause I never thought of that ... I mean its obvisouly stupid to keep it in the oven ...
[12:17]<[dam]>...
[12:17]<sdnffdxdlld>well give a stupid suggestion get a sarcy answer ;)
[12:18]<sdnffdxdlld>do you work on tech support by anychance? :P
[12:18]<[dam]>nah
[12:19]<sdnffdxdlld>netgear need shooting for these few models ... the rest of them are so good too :\
[12:23]<zyccus>smellyhippy: netgear aren't really known for the quality of their routers... according to the forums on adslguide
[12:23]<sdnffdxdlld>the earlier dg834's are know as very good and stable routers
[12:23]<sdnffdxdlld>some people have missread the problem reports as meaning the whole series
[12:23]<zyccus>if you say so... but I'd suggest reading forums :)
[12:23]<sdnffdxdlld>but its just the later ones
[12:24]<sdnffdxdlld>especially the GT and PN
[12:24]<zgzzcygnv>ugh
[12:24]<zgzzcygnv>vista is buggy, lol
[12:24]<[dam]>IT'S BETA!!!
[12:24]<zgzzcygnv>but its too sexy not to use
[12:24]<zgzzcygnv>no, really?!?!?!
[12:24]<sdnffdxdlld>lol
[12:24]<[dam]>yeah.. heard so..
[12:24]<zgzzcygnv>thanks Captain Obvious.
[12:24]<[dam]>:D
[12:25]<zyccus>[DcM]: please change your nick to MrObvious for the next 2 days, thanks
[12:25]<zgzzcygnv>oh and i just have to say, "ROFL OMGFAILURE!!!"... http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=06/07/19/049259&from=rss
[12:26]<jfyn2jf>Hi.
[12:26]<sdnffdxdlld>rikkus: I've read up on alot of different forums, talked to various tech support people from many different places and also have a good 3 yrs experience using the entire range in various conditions and climates
[12:27]<zyccus>smellyhippy: and yet you didn't buy draytek or cisco? :)
[12:27]<zgzzcygnv>man
[12:28]<zgzzcygnv>i just want the rackmount case that the SGI Origin 3900 server is housed in
[12:28]<zgzzcygnv>not any of the components
[12:28]<zgzzcygnv>just the case
[12:28]<zgzzcygnv>maybe SGI should just sell cases
[12:28]<sdnffdxdlld>rikkus: I'd love to but those are expensive and I dont have any contacts for trades prices
[12:28]<zgzzcygnv>i bet they could totally fucking own everyone, including like Thermaltake and the other big boys
[12:29]<sdnffdxdlld>and riku: the earlier models were rock solid with the latest firmwares
[12:29]<zyccus>I know they made a few that were ok
[12:29]<zyccus>you can get drayteks for cheap on ebay ;)
[12:30]<rwyfcygs>Anyone have a satisfactory XML / Schema differencing tool?
[12:30]<sdnffdxdlld>hehe riku
[12:30]<sdnffdxdlld>I'm just gonna get the basic dg834 without wireless
[12:31]<zgzzcygnv>check that fucker out: http://www.sgi.com/features/2002/nov/hpc/images/lg_origin_3900_out.jpg
[12:32]<[dam]>seksy..
[12:33]<zgzzcygnv>its huge, but seksy, yeah
[12:33]<[dam]>bahh huge.. could find a place for it..
[12:33]<zyccus>AnarkiNet: I wonder if it's silent in operation
[12:34]<[dam]>I would move out me refregirator if I need too.. :P
[12:35]<zyccus>http://eco.li/photos/Computers/MiscComp/RM380Z/Images/11.jpg <- RM380Z
[12:35]<zyccus>a case so heavy that you stagger when carrying it
[12:36]<jfyn2jf>Question about nullable types. I've a sqldatareader "x" and I read a field named "y" from it that is a Foreign key. (integer, but nullable). How can I easily convert the null to 0 ?
[12:36]<jfyn2jf>tried ((int?) x["y"]).getdefaultvalue() but that still gives an exception if the field is NULL
[12:37]<jfyn2jf>The exception happens in the typecast btw, not in the getdefaultvalue
[12:37]<zyccus>isn't NULL different from DBNull?
[12:37]<sdnffdxdlld>oliebol: how about not using nulls in the db and using a 0 in the field instead?
[12:37]<sdnffdxdlld>yer i think they are rikkus
[12:38]<sdnffdxdlld>if you set the default value to 0 then when you dont supply the int it'll use 0 rather than null
[12:38]<sdnffdxdlld>in the db i mean
[12:39]<jfyn2jf>smellyhippy: that's not my call.
[12:39]<jfyn2jf>Is existing production db
[12:39]<jfyn2jf>(and not entirely trivial, hundreds of tables)
[12:39]<jfyn2jf>I'm autogeneration C# business objects framework for it
[12:40]<jfyn2jf>rikkus: I can work around it with try catch or if's, but I hoped it would be easier. That blows up the generated source so immensely
[12:40]<zyccus>and this is a problem why?
[12:40]<jfyn2jf>speed and readability
[12:40]<jfyn2jf>and debuggability
[12:41]<zyccus>so using one conditional branch when retrieving a value from a database causes a speed problem?
[12:41]<zyccus>and if it's generated source, I don't think you should be reading it
