[19:37]<dzmzaivnz>I think that in a channel frequented by programmers !important is a poor choice of name. :)
[19:41]<rddjguc>lol
[19:43]<maasaz>can someone help me with this odd gap im getting in IE? whats odd is that its just in a table and i really dont have much css applied in that area
[19:43]<maasaz>http://absreport.com/beta/
[19:43]<maasaz>shoot
[19:43]<maasaz>user: beta
[19:43]<maasaz>pass: maximus
[19:46]<grgj2jv>MACscr: Make sure you give that header img a display:block
[19:49]<maasaz>thanks for the tip, but it didnt work :-\
[19:51]<grgj2jv>I don't work with table layouts, so I can't give much help
[19:52]<grgj2jv>The design is nice though :P
[19:52]<maasaz>thanks, mostly a premade template though
[19:53]<maasaz>the design is a rush job and i dont have time to convert it to tableless
[19:59]<imtxggrrxjmrg>can someone please look at this: http://www.pcs.cnu.edu/~anigam/1051.htm IN FF it renders correctly
[19:59]<imtxggrrxjmrg>in IE some of the line is on top where it should be, and some is on bottom, where the left menu ends
[19:59]<imtxggrrxjmrg>why?
[20:01]<fjffrg>IMTheNachoMan: IE doesn't support completly the standard css that's why i think
[20:03]<imtxggrrxjmrg>if i take the it fixes the prloblem
[20:03]<fjffrg>IMTheNachoMan: i don't know, try it :)
[20:04]<imtxggrrxjmrg>no i did
[20:04]<imtxggrrxjmrg>it fixes it
[20:04]<imtxggrrxjmrg>but i need the  s in there
[20:11]<mzwcyzsv>Just a general question: how popular are portals, and why do people use them?
[20:13]<wfvaz>hello all, anyone up for some IE fun :) ? I got a tree menu created via css and lists :), works great in Mozilla, whats new, in IE the first few levels work, but when you get 2 or so levels deep, all sub menus are visible/open when they should not be, I can't seem to get the css right for them not to appear
[20:13]<afncsnd>I have a question, when you have a div with width set to lets say 97% and floating elements inside of it, then you have right after it <p></p> element with text. The <p></p> element starts to over lap on the sized floating element on top if browser is resized. I tried including clearing span/div after floating element but it would make a huge gap (both;right;) or not work at all. Example: http://www.amdwebhost.com/solutions/vps/ (look
[20:13]<afncsnd>at 3 floating bars and little paragraph under them on top)
[20:14]<wfvaz>here is a link to problem site/menu http://66.177.190.192
[20:14]<afncsnd>As you can see right now I have clearing with a huge gap, if clearing removed text will overlap to right side of floating boxes
[20:14]<wfvaz>basically if you go to commerical security -> surveillance you will see the problem, the submenus for why and how show on roll over of their grandparent :) not their parent ;)
[20:18]<ngzme-myazj>hi, i'm trying to make a footer for my page by using <div>, is there some way i can make the <div> box align to the bottom of the page?
[20:18]<pyznpyzxvnzbfu1>`footer
[20:18]<rtfs>footer: http://css-discuss.incutio.com/?page=FooterInfo
[20:22]<axzysvjz>yop sorry I disconnected
[20:23]<axzysvjz>I have a question about css , I have a website where the text on the banner is visible on FF and IE6 but not for all on IE6. A lot of people using IE6 told me that the title disappear. SOmeone can help me to debug the problem?
[20:24]<axzysvjz>It seems that for some people on IE6 , the text disappear under the pic
[20:24]<axzysvjz>the website is http://gymyutz1.dnsalias.com
[20:26]<wfvaz>christor: yes confirmed
[20:27]<wfvaz>christor: text is under pic, on load it was above, then as soon as I clicked went below, refreshing the page, and still below
