[11:10]<afygvsgnv>:)
[11:10]<ugsvr2fn>_ThOmAs: /join #apache
[11:10]<ugsvr2fn>!tell _ThOmAs about apache faq
[11:10]<rrsv>_ThOmAs: ahh you need to enable a module
[11:11]<ugsvr2fn>_ThOmAs: or I believe that information is in the apache faq
[11:11]<_txodas>mk
[11:11]<_txodas>ta
[11:12]<_txodas>i cant see it
[11:12]<afygvsgnv>hey thanks alot. that would be awesome, and so for like my nvida GeForce FX 5200, I know its old but I got it back in 2004 and paid some money for it at the time, and my Acer Aspire 3610, maybe you could help with a few things cast, if you don't mind
[11:12]<rrsv>clintsnet: sure, never used/seen a acer aspire 3610 though
[11:13]<_txodas>cast any idea what module it is?
[11:13]<afygvsgnv>I work with alot of support for Windows users. and maintaining systems, and even testing with Vista, and reason for me running it in VMware for linux, hee that was a great accomplishment for me, like noone at my college, or instructors has done that yet on linux, sot hat was cool for me
[11:13]<rrsv>_ThOmAs: etc/apache2/mods-available/userdir.conf etc/apache2/mods-available/userdir.load, there's a executable to load it...umm forgot what it's called
[11:14]<afygvsgnv>and also, as I study more with programming, I want to take windows software, and reverse engineer it and write it for linux. even though I know wine , etc.. and I can use vmware, however, I like my Project 5, MixVibes, and Adobe software :)
[11:14]<_txodas>mk
[11:14]<_txodas>ta
[11:14]<rrsv> _ThOmAs maybe usr/sbin/a2enmod
[11:14]<_txodas>its not apache 2
[11:14]<afygvsgnv>and not to mention.. Adobe Macromedia Studio 8, and all there nice stuff for my web developing and business I will be setting up for
[11:16]<afygvsgnv>I do have a dvd burner, so I wouldn't mind downloading the dvd image.. is it just 1? and I should of bought magazine at barnes and nobles, had like the latest release of debian, but I think it was just the debian 3.1 rc2
[11:16]<afygvsgnv>I"m so into technology , and IT its not even funny cast.. what you recommend hee..
[11:16]<rrsv>_ThOmAs: oh, can't help you then. haven't used apache1 for years,
[11:17]<rrsv>clintsnet: any reason to use etch over woody?
[11:17]<afygvsgnv>I tried the whole gentoo thing, but its a punk for my hardware, and didn't even load proper video or sound modules for my workstation or acer :(
[11:17]<rrsv>clintsnet: they say XFS is good for filesystems with big files, and reiserfs for small files, so i went with reiser [you could use reiser4 if you were feeling like it,too]
[11:17]<afygvsgnv>I also plan to give it, either ReiserFS or Xfs :)
[11:18]<afygvsgnv>oh hee, yep was messing did that with linspire 5 for someone hee... they was happy
[11:18]<afygvsgnv>but I don't like that proprietary goof system :P
[11:18]<afygvsgnv>too much limitation without manual hacking :)
[11:18]<afygvsgnv>freespire is pretty much the alternative for being open to that mugg
[11:18]<rrsv>do you have a network card?
[11:18]<afygvsgnv>yep
[11:19]<rrsv>ahh good.
[11:19]<afygvsgnv>heck.. I Made CAtalog and Commercial for my College as Network Engineer lmao
[11:19]<rrsv>just looked up the 3610 specs on this site and it only listed a shitty controllerless modem :\
[11:20]<afygvsgnv>I actually on a commercial, and want to have like 1 of the best linux systems around, that isn't super hard like gentoo and slackware hee, but I still think I did good from going from Xandros to Fedora, to debian, then ubuntu , and now not giving up :)
[11:20]<afygvsgnv>yeah, I"m about to order a different mini pci wireless lan, and replace the 1 in the acer, hee :-) or go pmcia style :)
[11:20]<afygvsgnv>I"m willing to concentrate on my workstation for now though hee,
[11:21]<afygvsgnv>nvidia and all, and total power :)
[11:21]<pnnnnjd2yn>what's all this 'hee' about clintsnet ?
[11:21]<afygvsgnv>sorry, just my way of being excited
[11:21]<pnnnnjd2yn>hehe
[11:21]<afygvsgnv>--> http://www.myspace.com/clintsnet
[11:21]<afygvsgnv>you can see some of my accomplishments
[11:21]<rrsv>no dude. NO
[11:21]<afygvsgnv>I know thats really nothing, is why I got.. Adobe Macromedia STudio 8
[11:21]<rrsv>you can't use myspace *and* debian, it's not right
[11:22]<afygvsgnv>o>O
[11:22]<afygvsgnv>I"M working on my own IT site loll.. sorry
[11:22]<pnnnnjd2yn>hrmpf. flash.
[11:22]<afygvsgnv>that was just some temporary junk I did.. because my best friend uses that, and I said I wouldn't but did it to make him feel not alone.. cough
[11:22]<pnnnnjd2yn>or java.... I only know it's a proprietary plugin...
[11:23]<pnnnnjd2yn>or some I don't have installed ;)
[11:23]<afygvsgnv>well freezombie.. I help maintain commercial software and open source software ,and Operating Systems alike
[11:23]<afygvsgnv>I"m actually going hack windows Vista, in vmware , on debian, once I get it set up :)
[11:23]<pnnnnjd2yn>clintsnet: whatever you want...
[11:23]<afygvsgnv>they think they need 512 or 1 gb of ram for the system, hehe wait til I get done with it :)
[11:23]<afygvsgnv>its so fun being open minded :D
[11:24]<afygvsgnv>people like.. dang.. whats Cedega, you playin Counter STrike Source on linux ? o_O
[11:24]<afygvsgnv>and I"m like yep :D
[11:24]<pnnnnjd2yn>have you been drinking or is this all excitement ?
[11:24]<afygvsgnv>+sorry excitement that I can test etch, and help you guys are giving. cast* and ice tea with too much sugar :)
[11:25]<pjgs>sugar makes you relaxed and sleepy .. :/
[11:25]<afygvsgnv>what do you think would be great for my AMD AThlon XP 2000+, 512 mb ddr ram, nvidia GeForce FX 5200 128 ddr
[11:25]<pjgs>clintsnet, what mobo
[11:25]<znvszznzdnz>512 more mem and a 6600
[11:25]<afygvsgnv>I'm tired of hacking ubuntu
[11:25]<pnnnnjd2yn>heh. Carbon hydrate induced euphoria. (just constructed that term)
[11:25]<afygvsgnv>hee
[11:26]<afygvsgnv>there getting on my nevers with all there dam services at start :)
[11:26]<pnnnnjd2yn>hacking as in,,, ?
[11:26]<znvszznzdnz>as in fixing
[11:26]<afygvsgnv>welll.. stripping all the services out.. changing run levels,.. modifying the file system
[11:26]<rrsv>freezombie: trying to remove bloat ia believe
[11:26]<afygvsgnv>changing configuration files etc
[11:26]<pnnnnjd2yn>a-ha
[11:27]<afygvsgnv>hacking is not always considered as network etc.. it can also be with modifying or reverse engineering something.. its how you look at it
[11:27]<afygvsgnv>and you have ethical hacking as well :)
[11:27]<afygvsgnv>Pons.. MachSpeed, I'll get you the specs
[11:28]<pjgs>what chipset ..
[11:28]<pnnnnjd2yn>clintsnet: I was thinking more along the lines of modifying or creating software.... and I was slightly puzzled about the Vista bit and how ubuntu differs that much
[11:28]<ggvdrgw>Hi All. Need to build a company ssh portal. For a minimalistic aproach, what is better to start with: debian-installer or debootstrap?
[11:29]<pnnnnjd2yn>debootstrap should make it more minimalistic, but d-i doesn't bloat.
[11:29]<rrsv>netman1: debootstrap is my bet, doesn't even install a kernel :>
[11:30]<ggvdrgw>freezombie: as a guideline I think the number of packages is a fair measurement. What number will both install?
[11:30]<rrsv>lol @ obscure information
[11:30]<ggvdrgw>cast: why?
[11:31]<pnnnnjd2yn>netman1: I have no idea. d-i, to my knowledge, installs everything you need to boot plus a few tools you'd expect to have.and a mail server ;)
[11:32]<pnnnnjd2yn>debootstrap only installs the most essectial tools and no kernel I think
