[12:51]<vrfmdg>waiting: why would it have to be written in php4?
[12:52]<vrfmdg>waiting: what you really mean is probably something like libapache2-mod-bt
[12:53]<wryvyrr>valdyn: thats far too complicated for a moron like me ^^ I will put it into another fileharing network :)
[12:54]<wryvyrr>valdyn: I seen this mod_bt thing but it's incompatible with the httpd available for that operation
[12:54]<wryvyrr>valdyn: thanks for your effort tho
[13:10]<znndzzc>is apache 2.2 available through the debian apt archives? If not, when will it be?
[13:10]<rrsv>geemark: check packages.debian.org and see.
[13:12]<afygvsgnv>back cast
[13:14]<znndzzc>cast: that dones't state when it will be available I guess?
[13:15]<rrsv>geemark: nah, just what's currently in stable/testing/unstable. not sure where you look to check the status of things going in
[13:16]<znndzzc>cast: thanks anyway
[13:18]<zjwd_>what is the diff between linux-source and linux-tree ?
[13:25]<_txodas>[18:42:22] <netman1> _ThOmAs: look in /etc/apache2 's subdirs.
[13:25]<_txodas>i dont have apache2
[13:27]<szyzrvax>Y elo thar
[13:33]<fyr2fn>hola
[13:33]<wryvyrr>hmm, a title for a blog article comes to my mind
[13:33]<wryvyrr>"why go to IRC if I do _not_ have problems?"
[13:35]<svzguggz>liable: what do you do against heat?
[13:35]<svzguggz>liable: (wihout air-condition, of course) ;-)
[13:36]<fyr2fn>streuner: drink beer and sit in an air-conditioned room?
[13:36]<fyr2fn>oh..
[13:36]<rueu>hello all
[13:36]<fyr2fn>just drink beer then :)
[13:36]<fyr2fn>streuner: go to the beach!
[13:36]<svzguggz>liable: do you have air-condition?
[13:36]<fyr2fn>streuner: yeah, bit hot here to live without it
[13:37]<fyr2fn>streuner: unfortunately, my job is mostly outdoors, so i just have to put up with it, and sweat my ass off :)
[13:38]<zjwd_>liable: do you work in a server farm ?
[13:39]<fyr2fn>hah, no. server farms are outdoors? :)
[13:39]<svzguggz>s/server/crocodile/ ;-)
[13:39]<rueu>on debian 2.2, at first boot, in apt-setup i get this error: Dynamic MMap ran out of room. (etc ....) System is 486 dx2/66 with 8 megs of ram and 128 megs of swap. can anyone help me? could be just a broken processor or ram?
[13:39]<svzguggz>!dynamic mmap
[13:39]<mlcr>well, dynamic mmap is "E: Dynamic MMap ran out of room" when using apt-get, put the following line into your /etc/apt/apt.conf: 'APT::Cache-Limit 12582912;' . if you still get the same error, increase the value. if that file doesn't exist, add it, or put it in a file in /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/ The release notes tell you to use Aptitude, not apt-get, for Sarge upgrades. see <release notes>
[13:40]<rueu>thnx streuner!
[13:40]<svzguggz>get a pentium second hand, they are really cheap
[13:41]<rueu>streuner, thnx :) i use it for sentimental reasons :)
[13:43]<avww99c>hello
[13:43]<avww99c>hello all
[13:44]<avww99c>is there a way to map the rs232-port directly to the console?
[13:44]<avww99c>i want read out an scanner without opening the rs232-port. i want my data like keyport input
[13:46]<fyr2fn>streuner: hot there atm eh?
[13:48]<wryvyrr>ctx144k: what is a keyport?
[13:48]<wryvyrr>ctx144k: something like dubai?
[13:52]<fyr2fn>grr, damn xorg wont compile with mesa
[13:53]<wryvyrr>xorg - where all are free to do what HP tells them :)
[13:55]<prsrrv>Hellos :) I'm having a small problem here... I have aplay that keeps running like 50 times and eats up all my ram >.< is there a way to help fixing this ... its annoying that to have to do 'killall -9 /usr/bin/aplay' all the time :(
[13:55]<avww99c>waiting: i meaned "keyboard"
[14:12]<fyr2fn>!qotd0
[14:12]<mlcr>i guess qotd71 is <kbrooks> i believe /var gets rm -rf'd at every boot
[14:13]<rueu>streuner, seems to be not working that cache-limit trick. i've set it up to 100megs. still failing to read that package list at 69%
[14:14]<afygvsgnv>sorry all, was taking cast's time
[14:14]<sddvr2>hi
[14:14]<afygvsgnv>hello
[14:14]<fyr2fn>sorry for what?
[14:14]<sddvr2>how do i see using dpkg, which package contains a specified file?
[14:14]<afygvsgnv>for installing?
[14:14]<sddvr2>for example which package contains /usr/include/gif_lib.h
[14:15]<afygvsgnv>or removing. etc.. :)
[14:15]<sddvr2>i want to know which installed package contains this file
[14:15]<afygvsgnv>sorry, I still need to read alot on managing the linux system. understanding kernel, etc.. because as an IT, windows has ya half way backwords :P
[14:15]<fyr2fn>!tell symtab about search
[14:16]<rueu>streuner, i am wondering if updating apt (or wahtever is needed) by hand, will solve this problem ...
[14:16]<rueu>!dpkg
[14:16]<mlcr>rumour has it, dpkg is the base of the Debian package management system. It was created by Ian Jackson in 1993. dpkg is similar to RPM, as it is used to install, remove, and provide information about deb packages. dpkg itself is a low level tool; higher level tools, such as APT, are used to fetch packages from remote locations or deal with complex package relations. see also <apt-get>, <apt>, and <aptitude>
[14:17]<afygvsgnv>I thought his name was.. Ian Murdock
[14:17]<afygvsgnv>thats what the Debian Bible said.. :)
[14:17]<rueu>is there any documentation about debian 2.2 repositories configuration?
[14:18]<2zmznzs>Okay, I'm here. (courtesy of sussudio)

[14:37]<wrssyd>i tried to switch to the graphic mode but i failed

[14:38]<afygvsgnv>wassim: , I can try and help you rebuild your video config
[14:38]<ggvdrgw>wassim: check your /var/log/X* files
[14:38]<afygvsgnv>you want to reconfgure X?

[14:41]<afygvsgnv>you can normally just reconfigure X again
[14:41]<rueu>where are the security updates for debian 2.2 please?
[14:42]<fyr2fn>guzu: there arent any anymore.
[14:42]<afygvsgnv>I believe the command is.. dependin gon whether your running xfree or x.org. etc.. dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg or dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86
[14:42]<svzguggz>guzu: security update are usually 1 year after the next release in repos
[14:42]<wrssyd>clintsnet: u want to get my XFree86 log file ?
[14:42]<gdrn_frmd>Hi!
[14:42]<gdrn_frmd>i'm running debian!
