[15:19]<nm_>can anyone help me with a maintenance question? i would like very much to repackage vim-gnome, as vim7.0, but i dont know how the vim-gnome package was orginally built. could someone tell me where/how i can find the build environment/scripts?
[15:21]<fyr2fn>_ThOmAs: doesnt matter really, pick the default (inetd iirc)
[15:22]<_txodas>ok ive set it up
[15:22]<_txodas>now how i use it etc?
[15:23]<cygvzzj0n>hi guys.. what i'm planning is install a vmware server only console with windows os..so that i dont need to install xserver. then the developers will connect it to the server using a vnc if this will work..but what you said it need X
[15:29]<gdrn_frmd>is it just me or does debian actually run faster than redhat?
[15:29]<_txodas>how i use samba?
[15:29]<rrsv_>nice_lady: it probably does.
[15:30]<gdrn_frmd>it appears to me and i'm coming from a redhat 9 env

[15:48]<dydyz>hehe
[15:48]<_txodas>cant find where in the config it says for me not to axs it
[15:48]<wryvyrr>it. is. too. hot. here.
[15:48]<zxds>_ThOmAs, is english your first language?
[15:49]<rjgyg>waiting: like its any cooler out there? i know its not here, *phew*
[15:50]<zxds>waiting, watercool your head. pretty easy way to keep cool
[15:51]<zxds>run the hoses into a 5000 gallon tank buried 10foot underground, and just build a hollow copper cap. small pool pump inline, and you are cool!
[15:51]<rjgyg>and broke too
[15:52]<wryvyrr>Ronin: maybe a bucket & ice cubes can help, too
[15:52]<zxds>Ronin, not if your inventive. :D
[15:53]<rjgyg>:)
[15:54]<zxds>ive thought about this a bit. If you take an airconditioning unit, and put the core into a cooler, rerun the copper wire and refill it, maybe with an alcohol based mix...but anyway, fill the cooler with water. its a minifridge, and since its filled with water, which is a much better heattranferer than air, it is alot more efficent.
[15:55]<chjmrll>losers . . . just move to Antarctica.
[15:56]<zxds>penguins!!
[15:57]<nm_>can anyone help me with a maintenance question? i would like very much to repackage vim-gnome, as vim7.0, but i dont know how the vim-gnome package was orginally built. could someone tell me where/how i can find the build environment/scripts?
[15:58]<zxds>ed_, try making it from source, and using checkinstall
[15:59]<nm_>the package, or the source tarball?
[16:00]<fyr2fn>ed_: apt-get source vim-gnome
[16:08]<zxds>damnit.
[16:08]<zxds>dpkg--reconfigure doesnt work. :(
[16:10]<rrsv_>i hope you mean dpkg-reconfigure
[16:10]<zxds>probably. :)
[16:13]<ggjup>wassim: still there?
[16:15]<rueu>my debian 2.2 keeps freezing when loading md driver. is there a way to skip this driver? since i have no scsi, no raid, etc
[16:16]<dzrygf_2gzrzdyry>hello all
[16:16]<rrsv>guzu: it's a module right? just make sure it doesn't get loaded, i think there maybe some config you could change...but i'd personally just move it out of /lib/linux/modules/kernel
