[23:35]<fyeevslrwg>+well...
[23:35]<cgjllyw>-my problem is: i ve installed from a live cd that dont have universal package, if i do emerge --usepkg vwdial
[23:35]<zjznztt>+knoppix, that won't work

[23:35]<crgn66>+aibo, do you think that burning is of any use (I have 2 CD's left...)
[23:35]<fyeevslrwg>+Ubuntu is the moooooooooooooooost wonderful distribution that windows ever released :)
[23:36]<fyeevslrwg>+does that answer your question?
[23:36]<ry2j>+kane77, it depends not on burning speed
[23:36]<zjznztt>+knoppix, you need to cp /etc/resolv.conf to the chroot
[23:36]<crgn66>+aibo, *EDIT... at lower speed...
[23:36]<addddncf>+SiSteM[32]: you talking about enemy-territory ?
[23:36]<sysvnm[1q]>-yes i am
[23:36]<zjznztt>+kane77, try booting with: gentoo-nofb scandelay doscsi
[23:36]<ceredcyv>+Firztspawn: @_@ zomg u r hilarious... were doo u get ur wit frum.
[23:36]<ry2j>+any russians in here?
[23:36]<cgjllyw>-then i think to download all package i need and put it in /usr/portage/distfiles
[23:36]<xfyg2gzdrg>+I'm having some portage issues.
[23:36]<xfyg2gzdrg>+glut and freeglut are killing each other on an update.
[23:36]<zjznztt>+aibo, #gentoo-ru
[23:37]<znmfnzznz>-Miffentrop: from the alternate installation guide :Note: Knoppix is only available for x86 users.
[23:37]<xrds>-to configure the kernel I just run make oldconfig then make right? Its been so long..
[23:37]<ry2j>+knoppix, it will be done automatically
[23:37]<addddncf>+SiSteM[32]: why should it not be able to do that?
[23:37]<drssygn>+aibo, previet kak dealer ?
[23:37]<fyeevslrwg>+krazykit: um I got mine at the warehouse :)
[23:37]<musvd>-Hey guys I have just completed the gentoo install :) i want to run the kde desktop, which packages would i need to install to get it up and running?
[23:37]<ry2j>+roger55, thx
[23:37]<sysvnm[1q]>-because its 32 bit.. i think
[23:37]<myllggvzjl>+redlegger: oh great...
[23:37]<ry2j>+yassine, russian? :)
[23:37]<ceredcyv>+Firztspawn: i'd have guessed an outlet mall :-P
[23:37]<musvd>-Or do you guys know of a tutorial on getting the kde desktop installed?
[23:37]<addddncf>+SiSteM[32]: there is a emul layer for that
[23:37]<drssygn>+ya tibiya lublo :)
[23:37]<mrvrs>+Dusty: emerge kde ?
[23:37]<znmfnzznz>-Miffentrop: I know, gentoo just loves me...
[23:37]<sysvnm[1q]>-ooh
[23:37]<drssygn>+dore hier outra
[23:37]<zjznztt>+dusty, at the minimum: emerge kdebase-startkde (very very basic kde)
[23:37]<drssygn>+dobre hier outra
[23:37]<xfyg2gzdrg>+http://pastebin.com/728544 is the update.
[23:37]<sysvnm[1q]>-jimmyekl:what is emul layer ?
[23:37]<cgjllyw>-aibe yes, if yua are conneted
[23:37]<musvd>-Matas, is that it?
[23:37]<xfyg2gzdrg>+Can anyone give me a hand with it? I'm so confused... not running ~arch...
[23:38]<addddncf>+SiSteM[32]: go read the x86_64 install docs (amd64)
[23:38]<musvd>-roger55, i want to install a full kde desktop...
[23:38]<zjznztt>+dusty, or emerge kde-meta or kde for split kde and monlithic kde packages
[23:38]<rey`>-anyone tryed to merge xmms2 is it supported by gentoo ? i can't find the package ;(
[23:38]<sysvnm[1q]>-sure thing
[23:38]<sysvnm[1q]>-thanks jimmyekl
[23:38]<mrvrs>+Dusty: that will certainly do , but as roger55 says, it will do the full monty
[23:38]<cgjllyw>-i download now the packge under knoppix
[23:38]<musvd>-roger55, what packages would i need to install for a full kde desktop?
[23:38]<drssygn>+aibo, unfortunatly just some words but nothing more
[23:38]<cgjllyw>-then put manually in the right dir, the emerge
[23:38]<mrvrs>+Dusty: if you want the full desktop with all addons, you do emerge kde
[23:38]<cgjllyw>-but
[23:39]<myllggvzjl>+redlegger: http://www.applia.fr/contents/knoppix64.html
[23:39]<znmfnzznz>-Miffentrop: looks like there might be a way to just copy the files
[23:39]<cgjllyw>-i dont find the right package in http://distfiles.gentoo.org/distfiles/
[23:39]<musvd>-Matas, brilliant thankyou.
[23:39]<ry2j>+yassine, :)
[23:39]<xfyg2gzdrg>+I don't understand /why/ it's erroring.
[23:39]<xfyg2gzdrg>+Because coldplug has nothing to do with glut /or/ freeglut.
[23:39]<znmfnzznz>-Miffentrop: cool, for a second I could only say desolay ju ne parle pah francais
[23:39]<ry2j>+knoppix, yes, manually
[23:39]<rrvrrrrfj>+how would i go about querrying udev to see where a usb floppy drive is?
[23:39]<zj2svzpzzyzg>-hey folks, how is everyone?
[23:40]<zjznztt>+dusty, emerge kde-meta will get all of them in split ebuild, emerge kde will get all in monolithic packages as released by kde.org
[23:40]<znmfnzznz>-We will first allocate a partition to Gentoo by resizing our existing Linux partition, mount the partition, untar the tarball that is mounted, chroot inside the pseudo-system and start building. Once the bootstrap process is done, we will do some final configuration on the system so as to make sure it boots, then we are ready to reboot and use Gentoo.
[23:40]<myllggvzjl>+redlegger: also, I guess you could try booting from a 64bit Ubuntu-disc
[23:40]<2-_-m>+what happens first in the gentoo init scripts networking or fstab mounts?
[23:40]<cgjllyw>-for example, emerge need of qt-3.3.4-r8, i dont find this, or lcms-1.13-r1 , i ve find lcms-1.13.tar.gz
[23:40]<addddncf>+jevangelo: take it out, and reatach it? then dmesg?
[23:40]<musvd>-roger55, Ahhh i see thankyou.
[23:40]<drssygn>+my root devise is /dev/md1 how does this look in grub.conf ?
[23:40]<myllggvzjl>+redlegger: ah, partition-juggling?
[23:40]<zjznztt>+mzbot, gentoo dusty kde config
[23:40]<2-_-m>+i want some nfs in my fstab
[23:40]<de2jv>+dusty: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/kde-config.xml
[23:40]<znmfnzznz>-Miffentrop: that's what i'm thinking
[23:40]<zjznztt>+? split kde
[23:40]<xfyg2gzdrg>+I'm doing emerge -DNatuv world...
[23:40]<annvns>+http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/kde-split-ebuilds.xml
[23:41]<rrvrrrrfj>+jimmyekl, it says May 20 15:43:09 1-1: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 4
[23:41]<musvd>-Hey roger55 i just ran emerge --sync and it finished saying an update to portage is available <-- how do i update that?
[23:41]<zjznztt>+dusty, emerge portage
[23:41]<ry2j>+knoppix, just chroot and install
[23:41]<myllggvzjl>+redlegger: so Install... say, Fedora (since you mentioned it worked), then install Gentoo from there..
[23:41]<znmfnzznz>-Miffentrop: has to be a way to get around nasty issues like this, and lord knows if I was gonna hit this it wasn't gonna be while getting my CCNA...
[23:41]<musvd>-thanks
[23:41]<znmfnzznz>-Miffentrop: I'm on fedora now, i'm intrigued...
[23:41]<myllggvzjl>+hehe
[23:41]<xfyg2gzdrg>+It looks like the two packages are blocking each other! Ahh... confusion.
[23:41]<cgjllyw>-please aibo, what do yuo mean?
