[09:41]<lxl-2jv>[TIAS] Try It And See. If you want to know if or how something works, try it first.
[09:41]<dnfxysvjfxnfns>Jymmm , that s right , i should try it first
[09:41]<byre>mephistopheles: Reversed of how you said it?
[09:41]<tml>Jymmm: No beans. Dutch-Oven Potatoes for lunch and dinner, pancakes and eggs for breakfast.
[09:41]<grgjvnax>how do you get the ip address of the user browsing the site?
[09:42]<jdddd>TML You were in heaven weren't you =)
[09:42]<tml>nanotech: Check phpinfo()
[09:42]<ryac>nobody reads the php manual these days do they? :/
[09:42]<byre>nanotech: Check $_SERVER, it's got what you need. See a phpinfo() page or just var_dump($_SERVER)
[09:42]<tml>nanotech: All you can really get is the IP address of the last "client".
[09:42]<tml>nanotech: Which may very well be a proxy server
[09:43]<jdddd>TML There's a show on PBS with this guy that shows how to cook everything in a dutch oven.
[09:43]<grgjvnax>TML yeah, that will be fine for my purpose
[09:44]<tml>Jymmm: Cool.
[09:44]<grgjvnax>TML now when you say last client, cant that like mislead my script?
[09:45]<grgjvnax>like last client before the person going the site that the command is running on
[09:45]<grgjvnax>or last client as in the person who is running the command at that time.?
[09:45]<ran_dn>About security ! should be enough to use a constant defined in login or in the first page of the site in order to see if the page should be executed or no ?
[09:45]<tml>nanotech: The last client as in the last thing making the HTTP request.
[09:45]<jdddd>TML: I have a couple cast iron skillets, but haven't tried my hand on a dutch oven yet. All I do remember is that you figure about 30 deg F per coal. So if you wanted to cook something at 300 deg F, you put on 10 coals.
[09:46]<tml>ace_me: You probably want a session.
[09:46]<jdddd>TML maybe it was 40 deg F, dont recall
[09:46]<tml>Jymmm: I have a laser temp. reader from back when I cooked for myself
[09:47]<ran_dn>I've seen some codes on the web are using a constant . I now use a checking between referer and current page ! to see if the page should be / could be executed and is refered by the hosting site
[09:47]<jdddd>TML I kinda go lo-tech when camping... Camp Coffee, coleman lantern (not propane), etc
[09:47]<ran_dn>I use session for certain other pages to lock them, let's say
[09:48]<ran_dn>but I know is not good to let outside direct referer to pages.
[09:48]<ran_dn>so I want to be sure the page was clicked by using inside links
[09:48]<tml>Jymmm: Some parts of my experience were low-tech (throwing cows instead of a turntable, dutch oven on a campfire), others were pretty modern (all the flashlights were kinetic powered)
[09:48]<tml>ace_me: A constant won't do what you want.
[09:48]<jdddd>TML those the ones you squeeze?
[09:49]<tml>Jymmm: Shake
[09:49]<tml>You shake it for about 15s and get ~5m of power
[09:49]<jdddd>TML Ah, I have one of those, along with one you crank
[09:49]<tml>If you just shake it back and forth while you walk, it pretty much shines forever
[09:50]<jdddd>not very bright, but if your in BFE I'd suspect it would be
[09:50]<grgjvnax>thanx TML and BigE
[09:50]<tml>These ones were pretty bright. Those bright-white LEDs
[09:50]<ran_dn><TML> now I do $sec->verifyReferer("http://".$_SERVER['HTTP_HOST']."/tree.php"); and I pass a parameter to check if the current page is refered by who it should be
[09:50]<grgjvnax>although i probably will have like 5 more questions by the end of my night
[09:50]<grgjvnax>; )
[09:50]<grgjvnax>which will be 5 am
[09:50]<grgjvnax>2 more hours to go w00000
[09:51]<jdddd>TML Yep... I have one of the original ones, the newer ones have brighter LED's in them. But I bought some LED's from Hong Kong so I just might replace the led for a rbighter one.
[09:51]<jdddd>80,000mCD
[09:51]<zuvscyon>Is mysqli available in php 4.4.2?
[09:52]<jdddd>TML Man, you musta seen LOTS of stars out there and probably a few fallign ones too
[09:53]<tml>Jymmm: I...didn't notice. :)
[09:53]<dnfxysvjfxnfns>http://pastebin.com/703892 , please consider this
[09:53]<drnnrgnv>roar
[09:53]<jdddd>TML are you kidding me?!
[09:53]<jdddd>TML I know you were tired each night, but...
[09:54]<tml>Jymmm: We worked from before the sun went up until quite a bit after it went down, and most nights, I then slunk back to camp, stuffed my face with potatoes, and fell on the ground next to my horse until someone kicked me in the morning.
[09:54]<tml>Only time I even looked up was when it started raining on us.
[09:54]<jdddd>TML aw shit...
[09:54]<wdfs2d>hi
[09:54]<tml>Best thing ever...I was getting really sick of 110 degree days.
[09:55]<jdddd>TML Okey, gotta ask.... 10 days bustin your butt... how much did you make?
[09:55]<tml>Jymmm: o.O
[09:55]<rxrsvr>the key word there was in-laws i believe
[09:55]<rxrsvr>poor bastard
[09:55]<rxrsvr>:p
[09:56]<tml>Jymmm: I think you missed the part where I said it was my in-laws. :)
[09:56]<wdfs2d>I can't seem to catch exceptions/warnings from the DOM object in php5. I am doing something like this: try { $xsl_DOM->loadXML( $XML_extract ); } catch( Exception $e ) { die($e) }
[09:56]<jdddd>TML And you agreed to this why ?
[09:56]<tml>wilsby: I don't think DOM raises exceptions.
[09:56]<wdfs2d>TML, agreed
[09:57]<wdfs2d>Is there any other way of capturing error messages/warnings?
[09:57]<wdfs2d>I want them to appear withing my web template... not at the top of the page
[09:57]<tml>wilsby: php.net/errfunc
[09:57]<tml>wilsby: php.net/errorfunc
[09:58]<tml>2nd URL
[09:58]<tml>Jymmm: Because my father-in-law needed help
[09:58]<zuvscyon>Is mysqli available in php 4.4.2? I don't see the option for it in ./configure --help, yet a friend of mine has a php-4.3.1 and his phpinfo() shows mysqli support enabled
[09:58]<tml>Jymmm: They're subsistence ranchers.
[09:58]<jdddd>TML: 100 head?
[09:58]<tml>rutski89: It's possible to backport an extension.
[09:59]<jdddd>TML is the cattle to sell at market?
[09:59]<wdfs2d>http://uk2.php.net/manual/en/function.dom-domdocument-loadxml.php#53195
[09:59]<wdfs2d>TML, thank you
[09:59]<tml>Jymmm: 350. Some of it is sold at market, as little as they possibly can and still pay things like medical and grocery bills.
[10:00]<zuvscyon>TML: is it difficult? I'm really a perl guy, I don't know much about php. It's just that I'm installing it on my server because I'll be hosting three other sites which were written in php, they all use php4 and one of them uses mysqli
[10:00]<tml>Mostly, they're trying to rebuild from my father-in-law's father, who was running the place when he went senile and just about destroyed their livelihood.
[10:01]<tml>rutski89: It can be. I can't say how hard mysqli would be, I know very little about the new MySQL API
[10:01]<zuvscyon>TML: hmm, i see :(
[10:01]<jdddd>TML Ah. so they're using the balance of 300 to built up more cattle?
[10:01]<tml>^^angusta: Not really, but you can fake it if you really need to.
[10:01]<tml>Jymmm: That's the idea
[10:01]<jdddd>TML: ah, ok.
[10:02]<tml>Jymmm: But I'm not sure it's a good one. None of the kids want the ranch, and my father-in-law is 58 years old...
[10:02]<tml>*sigh*
[10:02]<jdddd>TML how many acres?
[10:02]<tml>This has been the topic of discussion every day for the past 10 days.
[10:02]<tml>Jymmm: lots
[10:02]<tml>Jymmm: I don't know for sure, but several thousand.
[10:03]<jdddd>TML Ok, and what is the purpose of moving cattle 100 miles?
[10:03]<tml>Jymmm: Off the winter lands (which are in the desert) and into the summer lands (up in the mnts a bit more)
[10:03]<tml>In short: Water
[10:04]<jdddd>TML Ah. I thought it had to do with grazing land
