[00:00]<tjufgg>Deer(s) and Deer(p) is a nuance.
[00:00]<jufyrg|fugax>Touqen, I think you're misunderstanding what I'm trying to say.
[00:00]<sugrrdcrpn>all she was saying was "there's no function", "writing one will not be easy"
[00:00]<tjufgg>Julian|Lunch: That you know nothing about English? I'm getting that loud and clear.
[00:00]<njdycjs>short summary: language sucks, making it very hard to write that function.
[00:00]<jufyrg|fugax>Touqen: see SunRayCafe, Nomikos-- I think you're taking this a bit too personally.
[00:00]<sugrrdcrpn>she/he <- presumption, sorry
[00:01]<jufyrg|fugax>SunRayCafe: he :P
[00:01]<njdycjs>SunRayCafe: hey, on this channel it's a compliment ;-)
[00:01]<sugrrdcrpn>heh
[00:02]<tjufgg>Sitting in a server is not my idea of a good time.
[00:02]<tjufgg>server room*
[00:02]<njdycjs>sitting in a server'd be worse :)
[00:03]<||aw>Touqen: that's why they make vnc
[00:04]<lsa-nzya>anyone know where the fonts are kept for TureType?
[00:04]<||aw>i have a server almost big enough to sit in
[00:04]<tjufgg>I know, there was a reason I had gone down there intially, but I ended up staying and freezing my ass off.
[00:05]<lsa-nzya>ohhhh ||cw .. room for a few more .. it looks like
[00:06]<||aw>it's an old Dell 4100
[00:06]<tjufgg>soooo coooold
[00:06]<lsa-nzya>oh shit.. that sis a huge box there ||cw
[00:07]<||aw>I plan on gutting it and putting a mini-fridge inside it
[00:07]<lsa-nzya>haha
[00:07]<lsa-nzya>me hand Touqen a mug of coffee
[00:07]<lsa-nzya>okay guy's... help me out here..
[00:08]<||aw>Touqen: sounds like someone needs to learn that 75F is an acceptable temp, so long as the humidity stays down
[00:08]<||aw>but not too far down
[00:08]<||aw>psc-eric: what does ttf have to do with php
[00:08]<||aw>and font location are os/distro specific
[00:09]<tjufgg>I didn't even realize that psc-eric even asked a questin
[00:09]<lsa-nzya>apparently my truetypefont has not fonts in its folder..
[00:09]<lsa-nzya>eh.. been trying to get the hn_captca.class.php working.
[00:09]<||aw>did you install any?
[00:09]<lsa-nzya>*cough* ||cw no.. lol .. thats where im trying to figure out where to install
[00:09]<tjufgg>just put some fonts in whatever directory that class is configured to look for fonts at
[00:10]<tjufgg>psc-eric: It doubt it's going to use the system font directory (since it's not necessarily consistent across systems)
[00:12]<zgmzna>Guys, what do I need to do to actually get postgres support going in 4.4.2? I've explicitly disabled MySQL because it keopt getting built even without --with-mysql and added --with-pgsql=/usr/local/pgsql/bin/pg_config ... configure seems happy, make doesn't swear, but after a make install there's no pgsql.so in the extensions?
[00:12]<lrr-drg>h
[00:12]<zgmzna>It only copies a header file there
[00:12]<||aw>andrej: is "shared" implied on that one?
[00:12]<jd>andrej, there won't be a so file since you didn't compile it as shared
[00:12]<byre>andrej: That's beacuase you didn't compile it as a shared extension, you built it into PHP.
[00:13]<2zyrg>Is there a PHP function to singularize a word?
[00:13]<drvvdaa>brian: How likely is that, given your previous question? :
[00:13]<tjufgg>brian: no
[00:13]<drvvdaa>:)
[00:13]<zgmzna>BUt when I invoke php it swears at me that the file is missing?
[00:13]<tjufgg>andrej: take it out of your php.ini
[00:13]<zgmzna>oic
[00:13]<tjufgg>Since it's compiled in you don't need the extension=.. line
[00:14]<zgmzna>I'll give that a shot, ta. What option would I have to specify to build it as shared
[00:14]<tjufgg>andrej: Why bother?
[00:15]<zgmzna>heh - because I like modular systems, and don't want to change the set-up
[00:15]<tjufgg>monolithic FTW
[00:15]<zgmzna>:}
[00:15]<zgmzna>Are you a BSD guy?
[00:16]<tjufgg>--with-postgre="shared,/path/to/pgsql"
[00:16]<zgmzna>Thanks
[00:16]<zgmzna>:}
[00:16]<lsa-nzya>anyone remember how to set virtual driectors ..
[00:16]<lsa-nzya>like
[00:16]<zgmzna>catch ya later
[00:16]<tjufgg>That's not 100% correct, it was a close approximation though.
[00:16]<tjufgg>"driectors"?
[00:16]<tjufgg>Is that klingon?
[00:16]<lsa-nzya>if i need $TTF_folder to be /user/local/cpanel/shared/ttf/
[00:17]<tjufgg>psc-eric: You mean you need a symlink?
[00:17]<lsa-nzya>i guess Touqen
[00:17]<lsa-nzya>i remember i use to be able to set .. on the server side... $TTF_folder equal to something
[00:18]<tjufgg>I'm just confused now.
[00:19]<lsa-nzya>in ssh
[00:19]<tjufgg>What about it?
[00:20]<lsa-nzya>okay.. i thought you were able to set $folder_something to a director .. so you could just cd $folder_something and be there
[00:20]<tjufgg>That's not a "virtual directory"
[00:20]<lsa-nzya>okay .. forgive me .. im stupid after 39 hours without sleep
[00:20]<tjufgg>That's assigning a value to a shell variable and using it in a statement.
[00:21]<tjufgg>psc-eric: Why not go to sleep?
[00:21]<lsa-nzya>eh.. need to fix this first
[00:22]<njdycjs>ln -s targetname sourcename, i think
[00:22]<lsa-nzya>our servers were dropped... .. literally dropped at our colo host
[00:22]<njdycjs>ormaybe it's the other way round
[00:22]<||aw>ouch
[00:22]<lsa-nzya>had to buy new ones.. and am trying to reproduce 8 weeks of work in as quickly as possible
[00:24]<||aw>and after, and at least daily
[00:24]<njdycjs>damn right, more often than every 8 weeks
[00:25]<||aw>I try to make a point to check in every day so the file server backs it all up
[00:25]<||aw>so i got local, and repo, and tape (hope I never actualy need tape)
[00:26]<fusxuyrr>>.>
[00:26]<fusxuyrr>what about retail?
[00:27]<ai_ajmnz>I'm looking for a good website that I would want to visit three times a week, could someone recommend one that is worth visiting that often?
[00:27]<fusxuyrr>psc-eric: arn't hosts responsible for backing up?
[00:27]<||aw>retail what
[00:27]<fusxuyrr>||cw: it was a joke...
[00:27]<njdycjs>AI_coder: google :-)
[00:27]<fusxuyrr>AI_coder: www.google.com
[00:27]<jd>bangbus.com
[00:27]<fusxuyrr>shit, ya beat me to it :X
[00:27]<||aw>AI_coder: engadget, slashdot
[00:27]<lsa-nzya>yes and no..
[00:27]<njdycjs>heheh
