[05:24]<txr_crrur_prryrr>welcome andrewski
[05:24]<grvxrg>tvalladon, chmod ?
[05:24]<txr_crrur_prryrr>now
[05:25]<fgm_zgffwfyg>man, my laptop and ubuntu are so screwed ;-
[05:25]<txr_crrur_prryrr>you show me how to make webpage i wish for me?
[05:25]<lzjpjx`>The_Cajun_Pagina: thats because you are running mIRC The_Cajun_Pagina
[05:25]<fgm_zgffwfyg>:-)
[05:25]<fyfof79f>just wondering is there much difference yep between knot-1 and 6.06
[05:25]<zgmznwscy>profoX`: lol
[05:25]<fyfof79f>yet*
[05:25]<lzjpjx`>lib8264q: yes, you should NOT use knot1
[05:25]<azydsug>lib8264q: yes, there are noticeable differences such as "perhaps my computer doesn't boot".
[05:25]<mrmfyfjv>The_Cajun_Pagina, I've told you twice which channels you should try for HTML/webpage help. Now stop being off-topic, or you'll be removed from this channel too
[05:25]<vvrffrmjg>no use.. its mounted to /media/storage and if I am in /media and type #chmod 777 storage the user still cant edit it
[05:25]<fyfof79f>lol
[05:25]<lzjpjx`>lib8264q: unless you want to test it on a seperate computer or hunt for bugs.. it is not stable at all
[05:25]<txr_crrur_prryrr>can someone show how to make web page pleasE? I would be very happy to nice for you.
[05:25]<fyfof79f>cool
[05:25]<f11v>yeah
[05:25]<f11v>learn HTML
[05:25]<f11v>and PHP
[05:25]<gfrsscrscnv>And is it possible for me to compile my own kernel?
[05:26]<azydsug>GlassCasket: certainly.
[05:26]<vvrffrmjg>nathan: no use.. its mounted to /media/storage and if I am in /media and type #chmod 777 storage the user still cant edit it
[05:26]<usgzugmgpygg>GlassCasket, yes
[05:26]<fgm_zgffwfyg>noiesmo: i actually don't have that line
[05:26]<lzjpjx`>Madpilot: thanks, you're my hero.
[05:26]<fgm_zgffwfyg>noe is there a program to do autodetch?
[05:26]<zgmznwscy>Madpilot: whoa man, that was harsh! ... ... :-P
[05:26]<vvrffrmjg>nathan: even with sudo
[05:26]<gunsv966>well i was going to ask what knot is but i dont see the point now lol
[05:26]<fgm_zgffwfyg>I want to autodetect all of my hardware agai!
[05:26]<usgzugmgpygg>thanks Madpilot
[05:26]<gunsv966>thanks all
[05:26]<fgm_zgffwfyg>*again!
[05:26]<mrmfyfjv>andrewski, no, it was not. He had plenty of warnings.
[05:26]<gunsv966>have a great nite!
[05:26]<gfrsscrscnv>Sweet: I'm assuming I'd have to do it after the install, right?
[05:26]<lzjpjx`>Madpilot was right to ban him.. he was obviously a troll
[05:27]<xjfdajw>andrewski, not at all, humanity never ceases to dissappoint
[05:27]<zgmznwscy>holycow, Madpilot: sorry, that was irony. i was right with you.
[05:27]<vvrffrmjg>nevyn: here is the line from my fstab file: /dev/hda1 /media/storage ext3 auto,user,exec,rw,sync 0 0
[05:27]<vnsv>can someone tell me if there is any advantage to putting directories in seperate partitions or is it just an organizing thing?
[05:27]<gjynsdj>is there a way to stop quiet and splash being added to menu.1st kernel options as me laptop doesnt like it I get lines on the screen untill gdm kicks in
[05:27]<vvrffrmjg>grrr.. sry, wrong person
[05:27]<xjfdajw>andrewski, ah!
[05:27]<mrmfyfjv>andrewski, ah, I missed the :P you stuck on the end :)
[05:27]<vvrffrmjg>nathan: here is the line from my fstab file: /dev/hda1 /media/storage ext3 auto,user,exec,rw,sync 0 0
[05:27]<usgzugmgpygg>GlassCasket, yes
[05:27]<gjynsdj>just installed new kernel and grubs added it back in
[05:27]<zgmznwscy>test: /home makes a good backup for upgrading, that's really the only important one in my opinion.
[05:27]<lzjpjx`>test: putting /home on a separate partition might save you headaches when you have to reinstall the system
[05:27]<lzjpjx`>andrewski: great minds think alike..
[05:27]<gfrsscrscnv>userundefine: OK, thanks.
[05:28]<pdsxd>will Flash 9 for Linux make Flash any faster on Linux?
[05:28]<zgmznwscy>fishy: will flash 9 be released on linux?
[05:28]<lzjpjx`>fishy: we *hope* so, but it will only be released in 2007
[05:28]<usgzugmgpygg>fishy, if it ever appears.
[05:28]<vvrffrmjg>fishy: where you find flash9 for linux????
[05:28]<xjfdajw>fishy, i have no faith in adobe
[05:28]<grvxrg>tvalladon, try 'defaults' as the option part instead of auto, user, exec,rw,sync or even find a proper mount point seen as its ext3... such as /home/user/spare
[05:28]<lzjpjx`>andrewski: somewhere 2007 according to the developer's blog (penguin.swf)
[05:28]<mrmfyfjv>tvalladon, there is no Flash 8 or 9 for Linux
[05:28]<fyfof79f>can someone explain to me how i can tell at terminal propmt weather a wifi card is active or how to activate it
[05:28]<vvrffrmjg>Madpilot: damn, he got my hopes all up
[05:28]<lzjpjx`>tvalladon: wine + firefox/flash works, but native flash9 for linux doesn't exist yet
[05:28]<zgmznwscy>lib8264q: iwconfig
[05:29]<fysx>then what tool we can use to make flash file in LInux?
[05:29]<lzjpjx`>lish: what do you mean
[05:29]<fyfof79f>ty ....
[05:29]<zgmznwscy>lish: is there one? is it even worth it?
[05:29]<vvrffrmjg>nathan: I tried default already
[05:29]<vnsv>andrewski: thank you and profox for your replies. how would the make it easier? The new install would read those directories thereby saving a few steps?
[05:29]<zgmznwscy>test: it would not touch /home, where all your personal files are (or should be) stored.
[05:29]<yddn-ndjsjf>Thanks again profoX`, it worked... :D
[05:29]<yzjg>epale
[05:29]<gfrsscrscnv>Does Ubuntu come with dhcpcd or pump? So I can automatically fetch my IP>
[05:29]<usgzugmgpygg>test, your settings for programs would be saved.
[05:30]<lzjpjx`>test: no, when you have done something terrible to your system by accident, you can reinstall the system, and keep your /home intact
[05:30]<zgmznwscy>test: that way, you can just wipe your / partition and reinstall any OS of your choosing. :)
[05:30]<zzmaxjyffn>Madpilot: Thank you :)
[05:30]<nrrfn1>GlassCasket: it comes with dhcpcd
[05:30]<zzmaxjyffn>Madpilot: PM?
[05:30]<lzjpjx`>imme-emosol: :) good
[05:30]<yzjg>hello
[05:30]<gfrsscrscnv>Eagle3: Thanks.
[05:30]<mrmfyfjv>ardchoille, go ahead
[05:30]<fysx>Sometimes i use Flash Mx in Windows to creat a flash. if can we do that in Linux ?
[05:30]<nrrfn1>GlassCasket: np
[05:30]<lzjpjx`>andrewski: hows it going with the sata
[05:30]<lzjpjx`>lish: there are a few programs, but they generally.. suck
[05:30]<zgmznwscy>profoX`: just looking it up. O_o
[05:30]<vvrffrmjg>nathan: and I would really like it in /media and not in a users direcotry.. its a multi user system
[05:30]<yddn-ndjsjf>lish: You can, with php... :P :D
[05:30]<nrrfn1>GlassCasket: not sure if it comes with pump...I'm sure it can be installed
[05:30]<fysx>wow
[05:30]<lzjpjx`>lish: flash 7 creator runs in wine though
[05:31]<lzjpjx`>andrewski: :P
[05:31]<czzf>anyone know of a foobar2000 like linux player?
[05:31]<lzjpjx`>I'm a pain in the ass
