[00:36]<fuggdljjcyghrv>Imme-emosol, Hmm... that's really very strange. Try opening a console for me and typing this command
[00:36]<pzt00>johnny_: i gave you parameters for both pcs
[00:36]<lzjpjx`>bernouli: and install: sudo apt-get install alsa-oss
[00:36]<svdxdrg>Riyonuk: ah, I thought you meant to buy a new one
[00:36]<fuggdljjcyghrv>Imme-emosol, pico Desktop/test.txt
[00:36]<pzt00>johnny_: same actions dif parameters
[00:36]<lzjpjx`>bernouli: it'll work flawless then
[00:36]<ajxggd_>sorry it scrolled to fast
[00:36]<ajxggd_>what was the 2nd?
[00:36]<pzt00>johnny_: ok, set pc1 with address 192.168.1.1 and mask 255.255.255.0 pc2, same mask, ip 192168.1.2, you can set that in the system-administration-networking applet
[00:36]<lzjpjx`>gatekeeper: no that's not the right answer
[00:37]<lzjpjx`>gatekeeper: that doesn't stop the sound problem
[00:37]<pzt00>johnny_: errr i missed a dot
[00:37]<lzjpjx`>bernouli: did you follow my advice?
[00:37]<ajxggd_>its ok
[00:37]<ajxggd_>is that it?
[00:37]<2gzgjufy>profoX`, yes, i am doing
[00:37]<2gzgjufy>gatekeeper, i have macromedia plugin, only no sound, but i am trying profoX` way
[00:37]<zzvncnnlnz>profoX`: I wasn't sure if all he was after was the plug in hence it was a question to some degree
[00:37]<eorl>how do I prevent nautilus from starting? I tried killing the process but it keeps restarting.. I don't use nautilus for my file browsing..
[00:38]<ajxggd_>fr500, how do i move files across it now?
[00:38]<lzjpjx`>bernouli: okay :) flash uses oss by default, but that is old, and it wants the soundcard for itself when using the oss kernel module emulation, with aoss you can work around that problem
[00:38]<zzvncnnlnz>bernouli: good plan :-)
[00:38]<rddjguc>is this what Im looking for? http://www.fs-driver.org/index.html
[00:38]<iddn-ndjsjf>FunnyLookinHat: So my terminal-windows crasht... :S :P
[00:38]<iddn-ndjsjf>FunnyLookinHat: What did you want me top type again?
[00:38]<2gzgjufy>profoX`, yes, it plays the sound, thanks a lot
[00:38]<fuggdljjcyghrv>Imme-emosol, pico Desktop/test.txt
[00:38]<iddn-ndjsjf>FunnyLookinHat: -p
[00:38]<lzjpjx`>bernouli: you're welcome ;)
[00:38]<lzjpjx`>flash sucks though..
[00:38]<mjjrrssj>anybody have any ideas for my issue? :)
[00:39]<lzjpjx`>bernouli: can you try something out for me with flash?
[00:39]<2gzgjufy>profoX`, just want to listen something from youtube :)
[00:39]<pzt00>johnny_: you can do various ways, easiest would be to install openssh-server on both and install via gnome-vfs
[00:39]<fuggdljjcyghrv>Imme-emosol, it will bring up an editor, type some random text and do Control + X, when prompted to save hit y and then hit enter
[00:39]<2gzgjufy>profoX`, sure
[00:39]<lzjpjx`>bernouli: a webpage always crashes on me in firefox, a flash website..
[00:39]<2gzgjufy>let me see
[00:39]<lzjpjx`>bernouli: can you try if it works for you ? wait.. im going to find it
[00:39]<-- svgvsdyzgjvr__ xr>/dev/null")
[00:39]<pzt00>johnny_: or install samba
[00:39]<lzjpjx`>bernouli: (alot of flash sites crash btw, thats the problem)
[00:39]<ajxggd_>samba is installed
[00:40]<ajxggd_>how do i move files from pc1 to pc2
[00:40]<pzt00>johnny_: configuring samba is difficult
[00:40]<iddn-ndjsjf>FunnyLookinHat: Sorry, again... :S :( pico Desktop/???.txt
[00:40]<pzt00>for noobs
[00:40]<lzjpjx`>bernouli: http://www.popcap.com/gamepopup.php?theGame=diamondmine click "play simple" and then sytart playing the game, the first correct move will freeze firefox... does it freeze or does it work ? thanks for testing!
[00:40]<pzt00>try openssh-server better, i have a neat way
[00:40]<fuggdljjcyghrv>Imme-emosol, pico Desktop/test.txt
[00:40]<ky2ju>flash is evil..
[00:40]<fuggdljjcyghrv>Imme-emosol, we're just creating a test file
[00:40]<lzjpjx`>Kibou: i agree..
[00:40]<pzt00>johnny_: also, can you ping from pc1 to pc2's ip address and viceversa?
[00:40]<iddn-ndjsjf>ah okay. :P
[00:41]<iddn-ndjsjf>FunnyLookinHat: done that
[00:41]<ajxggd_>how exactly?
[00:41]<rddjguc>skavenge: is this what Im looking for? http://www.fs-driver.org/index.html
[00:41]<asnn00o>hello
[00:41]<scrvrrrr>Riyonuk: i dont run window i have no idea
[00:41]<ajxggd_>ping the 192 address?
[00:41]<lzjpjx`>bernouli: by the way, you are lucky that youtube listened to my mail, otherwise the sound in youtube would be broken when you tried to change volume in the youtube player :) but they fixed it today..
[00:41]<pzt00>johnny open a console and from pc1 type ping 192.168.1.2 and viceversa
[00:41]<zxzzfnsjzzj2s>hey guys I'm using the repo nvidia-glx drivers and glxinfo returns several lines of "Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0"." any ideas? here's my /var/log/Xorg.0.log http://pastebin.com/754398
[00:41]<ajxggd_>yea its pinging
[00:41]<asnn00o>Anyone using the PPC version of LTS here?
[00:41]<2gzgjufy>profoX`, yes i can play
[00:42]<xzfmjz>profoX: crashed for me too after 3 moves
[00:42]<fuggdljjcyghrv>Imme-emosol, ok now is there a file on your desktop?
[00:42]<rddjguc>oh
[00:42]<iddn-ndjsjf>FunnyLookinHat: nope
[00:42]<lzjpjx`>haldor: always crashes on the first move here
[00:42]<pzt00>johnny_: ok
[00:42]<zzvncnnlnz>profoX`: me too
[00:42]<pzt00>then install openssh-server
[00:42]<zjljzzr>nobody got this error in installation of ubuntu ? buffer I/O error on device dm-0 : logical block p.s = hd sata
[00:42]<zjljzzr>nobody got this error in installation of ubuntu ? buffer I/O error on device dm-0 : logical block p.s = hd sata
[00:42]<lzjpjx`>seems to be a problem with ubuntu
[00:42]<scrvrrrr>Riyonuk: at a quick glance yeah it looks right, i dont know how it works though i was just told about it
[00:42]<lzjpjx`>on archlinux it works fine..
[00:42]<lzjpjx`>and with epiphany-browser + flash it works too
[00:42]<lzjpjx`>maybe it's time for a bug report ..
[00:42]<fuggdljjcyghrv>Imme-emosol, crap I have no idea... Try re-installing completely with the CD, if that doesn't fix I have no idea
[00:42]<scrvrrrr>profoX`: how is epiphany anyway?
[00:42]<iddn-ndjsjf>FunnyLookinHat: when I do cd Desktop ls The file is there amongst others...
[00:43]<rddjguc>alright
[00:43]<lzjpjx`>Skaven: i don't know, i normally don't use epiphany
[00:43]<rddjguc>Im gonna look at the ubuntu wiki
[00:43]<rddjguc>if I can find it
[00:43]<lzjpjx`>skavenge: * sorry
[00:43]<iddn-ndjsjf>FunnyLookinHat: That's what I said, a re-install.
[00:43]<iddn-ndjsjf>FunnyLookinHat: Just like windows. :D
[00:43]<scrvrrrr>profoX`: ah okay, i've just heard about it ppl say its pretty lightweight
[00:43]<zzvncnnlnz>profoX`: you do a clean install of dapper?
[00:43]<rddjguc>hmm Im being told I should create a fat32 instead of using that?
[00:43]<lzjpjx`>gatekeeper: yes
[00:43]<2gzgjufy>profoX`, i can play it without any problem
[00:44]<rgrg>Question : PLEASE HELP ME! have an iso-cd containing ubuntu-6.06-alternate.iso, cd-volume-name is "21 Jul 2006", how can i explain it to my non-x ubuntu bad upgraded system ? E.G. mount /cdrom works and recognizes the ubuntu*.iso file... How can i upgrade from it ?!
